To Edmonton:
Brad Richards (70)
To Boston:
Ben Wright (70)
Sven Baertschi (77)
Rationale: Brad Richards was a veteran leader, but Brad Richards was also an inflexible contract. I get a younger, cheaper player in Baertschi who put up approximately the same points totals as Richards last season, plus a cheap defensive d-man who can slot into my top-4 with ease. Edmonton gets a leader for his youth-based team.
Pleasure to do business with you.

Re: EDM-BOS
Agreed.
Richards is not getting any younger but that's ok, I needed the veteran help up front. Besides Ryan Smyth, this team has no leadership at all. Richards brings exactly that and I'm positive I'll find a way to get the best out of his offensive abilities. Wright's departure opens the door for Jacob Trouba and I've got quite a few guys who can fill in for Baertschi.
Good luck to you!

Approved.
Took a harder look at this one, since at first giving up two young pieces for an aging Brad Richards seemed a bit uneven.
On second look, however, this is going through. Richards is young enough to have a lot left in the tank, and will be of even bigger value should the the Oil make the playoffs, with his increased LE. Plus, as Mike said, he's not leaving the cupboard bare by trading these two kids. Boston aims for cap viability and to revive a team that flagged down the stretch last year.
