Been pretty interesting so far.....

Rookie QB Yates wins over fellow rookie QB Dalton as Houston earns its first playoff win while Cinny closes out a pretty good year.

Brees breeeeezes over Detroit in a pretty entertaining game.

Atlanta forgot they were playing today and hand a W to the streaky Giants.

And last but not least, TEBOWW TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The best game was the last one -- freakin' Denver. I think they'll meet their match next week, tho.

NO was by far the better team in the 2nd half on Saturday, but the refs jobbed DET in the first half.

ATL looked pretty sad in the 2nd half (I missed the first half). Like they weren't even trying.

Tebow was awesome yesterday (that #12 even had a TD pass hit him right in the numbers and he dropped it to end the first half), but the ONE thing i will say that helped him was Pittsburgh.

i am by no means a football expert, but they rushed 8 guys on that last play. it is not like it was the first quarter: Tebow showed he was in the game and dangerous by that time. i know Pittsburgh is by nature cocky, but that was suicide.

Ya Pittsburgh obv thought Denver would take the safe route and start the OT with a running play, instead they go play action and half the secondary got caught sneaking up. Fox >Tomlin

I don't know if I can blame the coaching more than the players playing on the field. Half of them were backups. Ryan Clark, Lamar Woodley, Casey Hampton, Brett Keisel all out of the game with injuries. Mendenhall then out (although Redman ran well) and Big Ben on one leg.

Too much to overcome. Ryan Mundy had a solid forced fumble on McGahee but he showed a rookie mistake on that OT play. Came down in the box for no reason and left 1-on-1 coverage on the outside.....

Mental mistakes by PIT surprisingly.

The Roethlisberger immobility is on the coaches. Sure, he got hurt in the Browns game (

) but there was no reason for him to be playing in any of the final regular season games, including the 2nd half of the game he got hurt in. He'd have been much better off resting. They wanted that bye week, sacrificing Ben's health in the process.

I guess we don't know if the injury would have healed, but they played it poorly.

My two biggest storylines for this weekend:

Is it time that San Francisco gets exposed for a really soft schedule?

How legit are the Texans?

Yeah I can't believe how easy SF's schedule was this year. I'm still taking them as an upset over the Saints, just because I'm behind a point in my playoff pool.

Niners have to fix a lot of things on defense before next week, but they have as good a chance as anybody to beat GB/NYG.

No matter what anyone says about Tebow, making it to the divisonal round with the expectations they had at the start of the season is a pretty decent accomplishment and a successful season if you ask me.

Better team and QB won tonight, plain and simple.

I could care less who wins really except I hate the Giants, so I don't want to see them in the Superbowl. I would love to see the Harbaugh brothers face off in the Superbowl.

Can't see Flacco winning the game for BAL. Ray Rice will get his, but ultimately, Flacco has to manage the game well enough and I don't think he can. Not sure how Baltimore can match up physically with Gronk and Hernandez and still have enough to pressure Brady.

SF wins, but I also think the league will do everything in its power for a NE-NYG Super Bowl. Best rating possibility for them.

I'm really unsure on SF-NYG. I think I'll go 49er's, they really impressed me against the Saints. Played D when they needed to, and came up with some timely offensive plays against a DEF that is very much like the Giants. Lots of blitzing, man coverage, etc.

I think the Smiths' could really eat up Eli and if GB showed anything it's that the Giants are bad against the run. Where SF is stellar.

If the Pats offense is anywhere close to as efficient as it was last week, they'll win handily. Baltimore should feel lucky to still be alive. They can thank TJ Yates and Jacoby Jones.

ATL and GB games, Eli was impecable. Can't even remember him short/over throwing anyone. He's always money in playoffs. GMEN turned things around big time.

As expected, people are tearing him apart on his Twitter page. Can't help but feel for the guy. No matter how pissed or upset all the "fans" are, no one is more upset than he is. Cruel reality of sports. Someone has to be the goat.

I'm a diehard Indians fan, and I'd be devastated if we lost the way that the Niners lost today, but to wish harm or death to someone or their family is ridiculous.

I don't blame Kyle Williams entirely, he's not the regular punt returner but I'm not a niners fan. He's probably going to be cut pretty soon and I'm sure he's gonna take a nice long vacation away from the Bay.

That first "muffed" punt was entirely his fault. The second one was a good defensive play. Heck, he did have both hands on the ball. It's a shame too, because that game was theirs for the taking. But...no offense outside of Vernon Davis. I guess Michael Crabtree isn't the answer at WR?

Meh, on the second one he was carrying a wet ball like a loaf of bread. I get the desire to make a play, but, in that spot, when you need to just worry about protecting the bal, put both hands on it in traffic.

What's done is done. Eli v Brady. Have to like Eli. NE's D is so terrible and Eli's group of receivers should have a field day. On the flip side, Brady is still Brady.

True, ball protection was not great. I noticed on the previous SF drive when Hunter made his big run, he covered up the ball at the end -- a very smart play, I thought. Personally, I was hoping SF would win, since I like a lot of the little things they do as a team -- ball protection, and that defense knows how to tackle. A lost art...

For the Bowl....if Brady can get the offense going against the Giants D, it will be no contest. The Pats D has been pretty efficient lately too; not quite as good as the Giants, but MUCH better than they were during most of the season.

I know a lot of people like to hate on Brady, but I'm hoping they beat THE CRAP out of the Giants. I want to see a good ol' fashioned 90s-era whuppin', like the Bills and Broncos used to get.

Agree on SF's old school defense. Wrapping up and tackling is a lost art in the NFL. They were fun to watch. Alex Smith spent the 4th quarter and OT looking like a teenage boy trying to get a bra off a girl for the first time.

Patriots have a HUGE coaching advantage. We'll see if their players perform.

Not the same Alex Smith that faced the Saints in clutch time that's for sure.

Giants D is miles better than the Patriots D. Joe Flacco ripped them up for over 300 passing yards.

The big question mark to me is Rob Gronkowski. That's a tremendous loss, he's apparently in the walking boot and I'm sure the Patriots are loving the extra week of rest for him.

I still think Giants win a close one. Their offense and running game has been exceptional for the better part of a month (can't fault them for only 20 pts that SF D is off the charts good).

Also was routing for SF to win that, love the way they play as well. Good hard-nosed clean football, although little Harbraugh could use a lesson in "class in losing."

I was only able to watch the 4th quarter of NYG-NE. And, boy are those defences strong! Couldn't agree better with the bra comment and Kyle Williams putting 2 hands on the ball/sliding like Ross did for Giants. Poor dude. Someone actually tweeted that he wish his wife and kids were killed? Our society is FUCKED UP.

I know everyone wants to talk about the catch Manningham made, but what a sick throw by Eli Manning. Incredible.

Brady was off on that throw to Welker or it might be a different story. People are blasting Welker, but Brady straight missed that throw. If he leads him, it's an easy 6. Threw it high and behind his back shoulder.

Regardless, this year, again, shows the flaws in the NFL playoff system. Kudos the Giants, but a 9-7 division winner just happened to get hot at the right time while the best team in the NFC got burned by the bye week. Pittsburgh got screwed this year with Tebow-mania getting the home game as a .500 division winner. Again, one of the few places where there's still HFA. Same type of shit as what happened last year with the Seahawks and Saints. Saints are a MUCH better team, but Seattle gets a home game as a .500 division winner in one of the few places where a home field advantage still exists.

I get that it's the whole one-and-done thing that the NFL has instead of series like the three other major sports. I just don't think we saw the two best teams play for a championship. Pats had an easy road and the Giants were a .500 team who barely squeaked in. I'll give them credit for beating the Packers, but the Saints and Niners, IMO, were both better teams than the Giants.
