2025 Free Agency (extensions)

Same post as last year, just with a slightly different time window.

The draft is into round 4, so we may as well get started with re-signing free agents.

The Free Agent spreadsheet is up to date, so go ahead and start posting your offers in the Contract Offers forum. I'll set a provisional deadline of 1.5 weeks from now (September 2, 11:59 PM EST), so UFA can start September 4. If we're ready ahead of time, so be it.

Rules Notifications/Reminders:

Post offers with the full name of the player you want to re-sign as it appears in players.ehm (including accents and double spaces, if any).
DO NOT offer ELCs to POT boosters you just drafted this year unless they're overagers. They will not be entered until just before UFA begins.

Please format your offers as follows, EXCEPT for ELCs and QOs (they only need the name):

You can also put 0.6m if you want, or 600000.

You cannot edit posts in the contract offers forum, so think carefully before posting offers.

Extensions will not actually be entered in the file until after the draft ends.

For everyone else, if I pointed out any errors in your contracts or if you have sudden regrets over an offer made (or not), you'll also have until the end of the day tomorrow to fix them. I will finalize the resignings and have the file updated for the start of UFA on the 4th (Thursday).

It occurs to me that any ELCs for 21+ year olds that I entered in the extension phase went in prior to the rollover (ex: Maxim Barbashev on CAR, who was in his 3rd season post-draft) and got a year taken off but not re-added since they're not slide eligible. This is rather unfair since Barbashev didn't play any games, and had it been entered just a few in-game days later it would stayed at 3 years. If you have a player like that, let me know and I'll add the ELC year back on.

In the future I might look into making ELCs shorter for older players like that, since that's the way it is in the NHL. Since players don't develop much overseas there isn't much advantage to delaying signing an ELC in EHM, though, so I probably won't bother.
