PIT agrees. It's proven harder than I thought to find legit centres who are good on face-offs over the past couple of seasons, and even my prospect pool is very winger-heavy. Veleno is a relatively young centre who is good enough offensively to play up the lineup and good enough defensively to play down the lineup, whatever we end up needing out of him, and is excellent on face-offs.

I think we might feel Nieves' loss a little, but adding Veleno is nice and the $1.1M extra cap space is also nice to have to play around with in FA or with a pre-FA acquisition.

Veleno is a great young two-way player, but I like adding another 1st to the pool and getting a decent sniper in Nieves.
