When will the next update be for draftees?

Added 10 to the file tonight. Hoping to add 10 more tomorrow, but tomorrow is my Father's Day since my dad worked a 16-hour shift today. Got a full day planned with my old man, so not sure if/when I'll get to it tomorrow.

Plan is to add some more draftees and enter all of the trades before uploading the updated file.

At present, I have 124 in there. Plan would be 10 more tomorrow, 20-25 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday until the class is done at around 215. Nice part is that goalies are easy to put in.

Draft starts Saturday at noon, so, obviously I want the class done by Friday. I'll try to do goaltenders tomorrow/Tuesday so that the guys on Thursday/Friday are late round picks/long shots and won't really require much scouting until the draft has already begun.

Apologize for how long it's taking, but life is getting in the way.

Also have to put together an arbitration schedule. That's what I'm really concerned about now.

Tomorrow will be catch up day. Rule on pending trades, post arbitrations and send out new arbitration PMs, and hopefully get 20 draftees into the file. I believe I'm at 144 with 14 holdovers from previous drafts. Not sure what I'll do with them. I may just rename them and make some edits.

File will be uploaded tomorrow.

The hope for Thursday is to offer formula contracts and get another 20 draftees in.

We're having some additional discussions on a couple of the trade, so all rulings will be posted tomorrow. I've got a handful of arbitration cases in my PM inbox that I'll be handling tomorrow, along with a new file upload. There are over 150 draftees in the file now, plus 14 holdovers from past drafts. Obviously those guys went undrafted for a reason, so I'll have to make some edits to them and probably change names, birthdates, etc. I'll just overwrite them and the other fictional draftees remaining in the file.

In any event, I can't envision any of these last 50-60 players being first or second round caliber guys, so the bulk of who you need to scout right now is already in the file.

1. I am enacting the one Committee approval policy on minor trades and for upcoming picks. Picks for picks. Picks for a player or two. The Committee is myself, Pat (Bub(NYR)), and Tim (CapsGM). Anything of more importance will be ruled upon in a timely manner.

2. Please send lists to myself, Bub(NYR), and Tim (CapsGM) if you will not be able to make your selection.

3. The draft will begin promptly at noon, possibly before if I have to leave the house before then. A post will be made to signal the start of the draft.

4. Here are the time limits for picks:

So you can scout that way as well. Just hit Ctrl + F to open up the Find box, type in the player's name, and it should go right to it.

Peter Cehlarik is listed in Central Scouting Bureau as 5'10". Everywhere else, including Eliteprospects, The Hockey News and Wikipedia, he is listed at 6'2". I have reason to believe NHL CSB is wrong. His height has been adjusted to 6'2". Adjust your scouting accordingly.

It would have been nice to know that I had 12 hours to pick and not 12 minutes. I was trying to move back in the draft, but kind of panicked and picked. When picking first I had no real point of reference. I'm not blaming you for anything, Commish, as you do a great deal around here, and I got my guy in Pulock. However, it would have been nice to add an extra piece. Moving forward I doubt it will be of any significant consequence. I'm just saying moving forward all the new GMs should know these time frames are indeed in hours and not minutes, so take your time with making picks.

It has been brought to my attention that we have a few duplicate players in the file. I hope to fix them tonight. I will let you know who is swapped out for who. But, for now, in the event that they come up for whatever reason...

The real Sergei Tolchinsky is the one with the i at the end of his name.

The real Marc McNulty has 61 CON.

The real draftee is Michael Guigovaz, not Giugovaz. So the goaltender with 75 CON.

I will replace the duplicates tonight and post a new file with the trades entered.

I'll let you know who replaces them.

To the guys who have not sent back their arbitration PMs, please take care of that. I'm going to get the rights arbitrations out early in the week, hopefully tomorrow since tomorrow is scheduled to be a catch-up day on arbitrations.

The goal would be to have the bulk of them done by Friday so I can get them entered Friday afternoon before I leave for vacation so everybody can start planning out their cap numbers.

Plan now is to fix the duplicate draftees, enter the couple of trades, and wait for fucking Bernier to get his ass back here and draft. I received Femur's pick from the bar, so Tim should be ready to go. Same with Chris (MIN), and Vancouver's next selection.

Please, please, please, pretty, pretty please send a list if you won't be around.

Contracts offered in game and arbitration awards to date have been entered. Before I leave on Sunday, I will advance the file to the day before the draft, so if you want your guys to be signed before I leave, you should probably post your contract stuff. Pat can update the file while I'm gone if need be, but I want to leave as few loose ends as possible.

I'll upload the file later tonight so you can check contracts. Be aware that I will manually adjust salaries to match the formulas after players sign.

I have a few arbitration cases to write up, some contracts to offer, a few trades to enter, and I'm going to do staff contracts today. Make sure that you guys post those. I have to advance the file before saving it, otherwise the contracts don't go through, so I'll advance the file a day after I put those in. Please let me know if I missed offering contracts to any of your players. I will adjust the salaries to match the formula once they sign.

My agents have been backed up with cases, so that's why things have hit a bit of a standstill with the current pending arbitrations. I will send out rights arbitration PMs today. Those are very simple. You simply suggest a contract length and a salary. My "agents" will shift to an "arbitrator" role. If your salary number is 95% of their number, you get the player. If the player is testing the market, your offer must be 105% of the arbitrator's number. You have two shots at it, so bid wisely. The PM will have more detailed instructions.

Regarding free agency...since the draft is moving much, much quicker than I expected, we may have some down time while I'm gone. With Pat and Tim both new to being on the Committee, I don't want to start FA unless I'm here. Free agency will start July 8, a week from Monday, at 12 p.m. ET. I will either have Pat, Tim or myself (when I get back) write a refresher in this thread on how FA works.

For players currently 32-34:

+5 LE & +5 CON

Players currently 35-38

+7 LE & +7 CON

Players currently 39 & Older

+10 LE & +10 CON

The only exceptions will be that goaltenders will NOT be eligible for the CON upgrades and players who already have a CON of 75+ will not get any CON upgrades.
