Chicago sends: Cristobal Huet (76)
Dylan Olsen (72)
2011 COL 2nd Round
ATL sends: Ondrej Pavelec (69)
reasoning: although "Baby" Huet has played well in the month of December, he is being paid a staggering amount (thanks again Dale Talon for having no clue on the value of a dollar). This move upgrades our net minder and gives us a little more cap flexibility. You've usually got to give something to get something (unless of course you are negotiating with Dale Talon about a raise) , and we are giving up quite a bit. Olsen is a solid defensive prospect (probably our top one) and the 'Lanche's 2nd round pick this summer expects to yield an even better prospect. thanks, tom....pleasure doing business with ya as always

Re: Chicago - Atlanta
Thrashers send:
G Ondrej Pavelec (69)
Blackhawks send:
G Cristobal Huet (76)
D Dylan Olsen (72)
2nd Colorado 2011
Reasoning:
Drafted Campbell to be the goalie of the future, which has been progressing nicely. Which leaves Pavelec to be relegated to the backup role in a couple of seasons. Even with Ondrej on the roster, the Thrash were still going to be a lottery participant.
Adding Olsen deepens the defense prospect depth for development or for future additions on the forward side. The 2nd rounder also returns an equivalent selection surrendered in the Hamhuis deal. Also, with replenished selections I can again be active at the draft.
Taking back Huet for 1.5 years prevents a goalie logjam and helps Chicago with the cap.
Good dealing with you Fema,
Atlanta accepts.

I'll take "Things never stated by anyone in the city of New Orleans for $200, Alex".ThrashersGM wrote:Good dealing with you Fema
As for this deal, once I talk to Nick/Ryan, we'll rule on it. That won't be tonight, though.

You know, I actually did take a second to think, "Is someone going to make a Katrina joke out of this?", and naturally like a hanging curve it was swatted out of the park.

Remove "someone". Replace with "Adam Burke". I was the only hope. And I did not disappoint.ThrashersGM wrote:You know, I actually did take a second to think, "Is someone going to make a Katrina joke out of this?", and naturally like a hanging curve it was swatted out of the park.
