Game 4, do or die for the Blues. Will they begin their reverse sweep or fall victim to the fate that befell their last two opponents?

Shaking things up again, the Blues give backup Topias Leinonen his customary start for the series. Signs are positive as Francesco Pinelli gets the home crowd off their feet with the only (and fairly early) goal of the first period. Rookie Berkly Catton, riding shotgun with McDavid & Hodgson for the last few games, ties it up early in the second, but Dyal Cozens restores the Blues' lead with under 5 to go. The Blues head into the third with a lead for the first time this series. Can they preserve it?

Unfortunately, no. Anton Slepyshev ties it up in the first shift, and then Rasmus Dahlin gets called for a slash the next shift - one of four powerplays for Ottawa versus zero for the normally, ahem, disciplined Blues (c'mon ref!). OEL blasts one in just 15 seconds into the penalty for the Sens' first lead. Then Jimmy Lodge adds an insurance marker a few minutes later.

But wait! With a little over 7 minutes to go, Kyle Turris brings the Blues back within one. With two minutes to go, the Blues pull Leinonen and the pressure is on. Of course, the Sens' elite defensive duo of McDavid and Hodgson come over the boards and combine for an empty net goal and that's that. The Sens win their second straight Cup in rather decisive fashion.

Congrats to Marty on the win and condolences to Lumir and the rest of us losers. Well, that's that, I assume the offseason will take care of itself so see you in September.
