WCF Game 4, our last before we head back to DET, and DET has a 2-1 series lead. Let's head to the action

PERIOD 1:
Everyone's gripping their stick a little too tightly as DET gets 2 PPs but nets 0, and its Mattias Sammy from Jack McBainy on the only goal of the period and SJ is up 1-nil.

PERIOD 2:
Floodgates ajar! While the penalties get closer (3-2 PPs in favor of the home Sharks), still no powerplay goals, shockingly. But both teams pepper the other and its Colin White making it a 2 goal lead, before that evaporates in <10 mins thanks to Reinhart and Kostitsyn. McBain adds a goal to his apple to regain the lead 3-2 midway through the second.

PERIOD 3:
The gates remain open as its Lysell for another 2 goal lead, and while DET will put up 2 more, Kakko scores in BETWEEN those, meaning SJ never loses the lead in the third. It does show DET smartly ripped the goalie with 2 to go, but no-dice.

DET and SJ are tied up a 2. It's a best of 3!

Ah good. My phone was about to slip out of my hand when I read Detroit Red Wings 4, but thankfully I caught San Jose Sharks 5 before it fell onto the wall.

Personally, if I were the coach I would have played 2nd star and now team leading scorer Brady Tkachuk more than 9:00, but I guess it worked and we don't have to ask too many questions about how and why Tkachuk is a +14 in 14 games while Kopitar is -13.
