Chet Pickard finally has another bad game in a wild one for OTT. PIT grabs a 2 goal lead in the first period, and OTT proceeds to narrow it to one four times, the last with just 1:30 left. However, Svechnikov finally puts in the EN insurance marker with less than 30 seconds to go, and Noah Hanifin finishes -5 with 0 TA. A bunch of players end long goal droughts and OTT is now up 2-1.

Over in TO, it's even more of a back-and-forth affair as the Leafs give up the first goal, only to pick up their own one-goal lead heading into the third. Toews ties it up on the first shift of the third, but Barkov soon replies with the game-winner. Just like in PIT, TOR gets the insurance marker into an empty net, helped by the fact that Evgeny Kuznetsov seems to have taken a penalty with the goalie pulled. So put an asterisk next to this particular powerplay goal, and mark down a 2-1 series lead for TOR, who are challenging TB to take back home ice in the series.
