Homepage, Schedule & Results, League Save File
Welcome everyone to game 5 of this silly, ridiculous league that we all spend way too much time on, and love all that much more. It's game 5. When the Cup Finals started, EHEC said the sharks were expected to win 4-0. We all know that didn't happen. It's 3-1 Philly - how does it go from here?
McCoshen scores early, within 5 minutes, its SJS 1-0. Stamkos, again the stud, less than 5 minutes later, and period 1 ends 1-1.
They trade again in the 2nd. This time, Ilya Kovalchuk, EHEC stud, absent playoff performer, scores first, from SJS stud D Jack Johnson on the 2ndary apple. But MDZ, Philly's own stud D ties it before the end of the second period.
In the third - AGAIN we trade blows. It's Calle Jarnkrok (Knight assist???!!!) and WAIVER WIRE HERO Kenny Ryan. IT'S OT FOR GAME 5. 4 games go to OT!!!!111one
And finally at 65:29, Ryan Ellis, from only Alexei Bereglazov, its a cup clinching goal. Philly goes insane, its the first since 1975.
Big ups to the refs, BOTH TEAMS had 2 powerplays (neither scored, but it was...fair?) Spencer Knight saved 24 of 27. Jack Campbell 24 of 28.
Luke Ripley's 10/10 performance for the sharks was the loan perfection there, but we all know its largely just for show. It's all over.
In San Jose, Gritty can describe the cup hand off now.
The 2023-2024 season comes to a close (funnily enough as the real NHL is just about to begin). Unreal, seriously. I'm glad Gritty joined to watch me stream the SIM, not for any real reason, other than he got to see himself win LIVE. How many champs in EHEC can say that?
To Dan - thank you for all you do. Seriously. I reiterate my willingness to donate financially to the backend of servers and sites. But you had a great run, wow.
To Gritty - what a win. You bought at the deadline more than others were willing. You trusted your team - and just like in the 'real' NHL where someone can get hot, you got hot at the right time. No one can take this from you, you beat OTT and SJ, basically top teams in this league.
God Bless, Enjoy, Good night. Everyone rest up - we got the same DANG THING TO LOOK FORWARD TO AGAIN REAL SOON.

Great series to San Jose!! 4 out of 5 games going to OT could’ve went either way, anytime. Definitely wasn’t an easy road to get here either. It was fun to watch it live as well, thanks to NYR for being a legend.

Wow, congrats Gritty, not the champion I expected at the start of the season but maybe the champion we need?

Re: June 7, 2024
Thanks, the guys needed that.
Congrats to Gritty, Stamkos, Kane, and MDZ. I'd like to think I gave my crew the best chance of winning and some of them took it while others... not so much. I still have no idea how they managed to lose four straight, letting in 4 goals every time, and with three of those being OTLs, but at least that must have set some kind of record.
