In a bizarre coincidence, both retooling Alberta teams play reasonably strong road games, outshooting the lackadaisical home team's skaters 26-24 but being shut out. DET scored 4 to SJ's 3, though. Meanwhile, ANA blows a 2-goal lead to CAR to lose late in OT, while BOS only blows half of their 4-goal lead to BUF in the second half.
