General questions
Could someone answer these for me please?
1-What is the actual cap number for the upcoming season?
2-For buyouts, is the max salary still at 1,5 to avoid cap penalties?
3-Players on their ELC in the AHL do not count against the cap right?
Thanks!

Re: General questions
Well considering the NHL preseason doesn't start until the 20th, I assume we will be starting around then as well.

Re: General questions
EHM starts its pre-season on September 5th, and since we've never gone about changing the pre-season schedule like we do for the regular season, we'll continue using the game-generated one.TorontoGM wrote:Well considering the NHL preseason doesn't start until the 20th, I assume we will be starting around then as well.
So....I guess that means vacation's over! Pre-season games will start on September 5th! Waivers will take effect, training camps open, etc etc. So get those guys up on the pro team, get your player training set, and start sending in your lines via GMO. Remember that you do not need to be cap-compliant until the start of the regular season. You also need to leave at least ONE player on the farm so we don't crash the game as we advance.
I will update the file either tonight or tomorrow, with all trades, signings, etc. After that, check your rosters to make sure I haven't missed any signings (there will be some, promise) or call-ups.
As for the regular season, who wants to take on changing the schedule.ehm file to the actual NHL schedule? Dan has done it recent years, but he may have been lost to a box jellyfish or a wild dingo attack.
I can't believe that we're less than five weeks away from the start of the regular season.

I thought they applied between the last pre-season game and the first regular season game.Tampa Bay GM wrote:I thought no waivers during pre-season?

I'll do the schedule, chill. And I'm in no danger from these packs of adorable quokkas.

Re: General questions
Waivers discussions were made as to when it would be enforced. There's a strong contingent that is pro-waivers from Day 1 of training camp, but we never set that rule when we changed the league waiver policy. B/c of that, I consider it unfair to enforce waivers from the start of camp, or essentially this Saturday, September 5.
However, I would like to make the start of league waivers on October 1st. Anyone--age 24 and up--sent to the AHL after that date will have to pass through waivers. And because of the changes to the rules regarding AHL salaries counting against the cap, there is no "one week on the farm" regulation any more. So no need to waive, say, Halak, every 7 days. A high-salaried non-ELC player can stay on the farm all year if you like, but you'll be on the hook, cap-wise, for any amount over $1M.
EDIT: changed to October 1st, not end of pre-season games.

Like Tampa would waive Halak. Can you imagine?Commish Bub(NYR) wrote:So no need to waive, say, Halak, every 7 days.
Have yous figured out exactly how pro-ration is working this season?

Re: General questions
I figured since nothing got announced (that I saw) we were sticking 0/100 before the mid point, 50/50 after 50% of season, and 75/25 at 2 weeks before deadline.Vik (Habs) wrote:Like Tampa would waive Halak. Can you imagine?Commish Bub(NYR) wrote:So no need to waive, say, Halak, every 7 days.

Most recent file here.
Re: General questions
There's 95% chances it'll change.
We'll most likely go on a game-by-game pro-ration system.
Dan has some sort of program, that I heard is up-and-running, so I will let him explain how it all works.
I'm pretty confident it'll be a great system. Anything Dan touches turns to gold.

Re: General questions
Been wondering what is my team's max-cap ceiling right now...
I would appreciate if someone would be so kind to post it somewere as we're drawing closer towards the trade deadline,
also thought, that other GMs might like to know, too.

Been waiting until I update to Dan's numbers but here's what I have as of today's sim...
