Re: IMPORTANT: Payrolls 2014-2015
Good job, guys. I must admit that I'm impressed.
NAS and NYI: You need another player on your pro roster. Everyone needs 22 or 23 players.

Re: IMPORTANT: Payrolls 2014-2015
Guys, we've tolerated teams' infractions so far but it's not going to be the case forever.
We don't have any teams in a world of trouble, it's just a matter of staying on top of things.
NSH: Your situation is easy to take care of. It really is.
NYI: Get a hold of me on skype. We'll figure something out. You also have Clutterbuck making more than the AHL limit down on your farm team.
WPG: Tom, you need to make some adjustements. Your team is great. You might lose someone in the process, but that's how it goes. You are not that far off, you just need to take care of it.
Here's a quick reminder of what's in the rulebook. We have been kind so far, keep that in mind.
B. Salary Cap Penalties
1. The following are the salary cap penalties for being over the NHL
salary cap.
A. First offense – Starting goaltender benched for that night’s
game – warning via PM
B. Second offense – Starting goaltender and top 3 overall
(OA) players benched for that night’s game – warning via
PM and email
C. Third offense – Automatic forfeit of game (will result in 1-0
loss); final warning via PM and email
D. Fourth offense – Removal from league

Guys -- glad to see folks taking care of their cap issues. We will try to keep team's salaries updated throughout the season, as well as a thread to list all buyouts.

My team initials should be "ARZ". Also, this thread should replace the one made by Washington at the top of the League Memos section. Either merge the two or delete the old one.

Re: IMPORTANT: Payrolls 2014-2015
You're right about the two different threads.
As far as initials go, the program I'm using is set to work with this very specific PHX abbreviation.
I don't know how to change it since it's been made by Tim. (Former CapsGM)
Sorry, that's not happening.

Re: IMPORTANT: Payrolls 2014-2015
Good to see. Only one team with an overage of players, and one team with too many underagers on the farm. They've been notified.

All right, I'll just wait a few years. You won't have choice once we become the Quebec City Coyotes.Calgary.Flames wrote:You're right about the two different threads.

Re: IMPORTANT: Payrolls 2014-2015
Actually I think it'll be the Seattle Sasquatch first or maybe they bring back the Scouts in Kansas. Quebec will be the Panthers or Hurricanes. THere is already fewer teams in the west so moving a team from West to East would throw out the divisions again. ...hmmm maybe that's a good thing? All right, I'll just wait a few years. Good to have this thread though.

That was before the Carrick/Eaton moves so you're now at 63,192,917. I already mentioned the difference to Julien, apparently there's some oddity with Avtsyn that's since been fixed. The Rangers are also missing Mark Streit's buyout and are actually at 63,615,713.Tampa Bay GM wrote:For the record, Vik tells me my cap figure is 63,117,919.

Well for TB sake these better be entered AFTER sim and not before, cause if a team is over by like 4-6 contracts BEFORE sim then something is fuckin wrong here.........
Re: Payrolls 2014-2015
And if it is after tonights sim, hopefully TB Gm made the adjustments to get to the 22 player limit.....

Well.....if i was the Flyers GM......i always say no matter in what league i am in, and a few GMs can vouvh for me on this,,,,,,i always say....level playing field clear across the board......and i know that someone/anyone would bring it up if someone else did that kind of thing......it could effect the AHL standing, which in some ppls/Gms minds, mean something.....again, just my 2 cents worth

Ok so releases go BEFORE the sim.....but UFAs go after the sim....so either way , TB was over or under ......so isnt that a penalty? i am just asking cause i know that some Gms jump all over this shit either way.....me being one of them as i like ot have a level playing field for alll Gms and now seeing that TB was under the roster limit......so what happens now that this was brought up pre sim?

Releases weren't entered either, it was the Giroux trade that has him under the roster limit. It has nothing to do with the UFAs and he's gaining no advantage from it so I don't see why there'd be any need to penalize him for it.Singin the BLUES wrote:Ok so releases go BEFORE the sim.....but UFAs go after the sim....so either way , TB was over or under ......so isnt that a penalty? i am just asking cause i know that some Gms jump all over this shit either way.....me being one of them as i like ot have a level playing field for alll Gms and now seeing that TB was under the roster limit......so what happens now that this was brought up pre sim?
Re: Payrolls 2014-2015
under or over.....regardless of win or loss.....no advantage? IMO it dont matter , rules are rules and he was under......why have rules if no penalties are enforced at all....there has been a shitload of overs/unders in games and some have been wins and some losses.......some of the unders have been screw up in cap limits and what nots....alll i want is a level playing field like i said time and time again........Gms know well ahead of time, especially Mods/admins.......no excuses......i dont think this is my first time expresssing this kind of shit......IMO there has to be some kind of penalty for this shit, we get penalties for being a tad ove rthe cap, or for wrong line tactics, but why not too many players or not enough? To me it is all the same shit.......dress 22-25 player....be under cap or over the floor ...very simple....cant fuck that up right?Vik (Habs) wrote:Releases weren't entered either, it was the Giroux trade that has him under the roster limit. He wasn't over for the game, he just is at the moment (trades are entered after the sim). No sense making the simmer remember to enter a promotion at the end of the sim for him (since that's the only time it would've been necessary).

Re: Payrolls 2014-2015
Jim, I can understand your frustration about the things you mentioned. Luckily, we are blessed to have Vik as a GM. Things have been closely monitored this year, roster infractions are being identified at a high level.
I was aware of the fact all of these signings would put me over the roster size maximum. I had a list of players to release IF the bids won. I did not want to release a player only to find out my bid had been exceeded. When it comes to roster sizes, 24-48 hours is a reasonable amount of time to fluctuate between legal and over.
For the other things you mentioned, a group of teams have gone over the cap. For some of them, it's been more then once. However, it's been fixed relatively quickly. I am not sure what it says in the rulebook about exceeding the salary cap for a couple of days. It's another thing to look at for next season; is there a thread about rule changes for next season?

Re: Payrolls 2014-2015
Well IMO there shouldnt be no "next season" ....like i keep on saying...level playing field for all.......no level playing field for all is the reason i have quit a few leagues....i am not into...oh the excuse and this excuse...fuck that....every GM knows the rules and knows better, especially in THIS league....especailly if you are an Admin or Mod....And there shouldnt be any of this...well just in case i didint win the bid on that UFA shit....manage your team accordingly period....i put in a shitload of time and thought into my players and my team at the beginning and mid season in this league and a shitload of Gms love to play stupid and forget the cap or roster limit and get past it every day by lame ass comments...and TBH i am sick of it .....We all know our cap limit, we all know our player limit, we all know our trades..,...fucking deal with it and man up when you screw up....not an OPPPPPPS.....I see this league trying to be the same as the NHL in so many ways.....well....you can not get over/under the cap limit by a day or 2 in the NHL, so you shouldnt here.....live by the rules die by the rules...simple as that......there is simply too many teams gettin by by the loopholes or stupidity by some in here IMO ...again...just my 2 cents....as reallly.....i dont give a fuck...cause if you have to win by cheating....you arent a winner at all period.....take it as you want.Tampa Bay GM wrote:Jim, I can understand your frustration about the things you mentioned. The passion and care you show for your team and EHEC is awesome. I agree that we should always be trying to replicate the NHL as close as possible. With the amazing staff we have, I am sure we will always aim for that standard as best we can.

Re: Payrolls 2014-2015
Well.....IMO start penalizing teams like you would according to the rules on other rules that would have the same implications as being over/under the roster limits......like i keep saying....level playing field clear across the board.....not just for a chosen few Gms.......IMO each and every infraction should have a penalty......we are very capable Gms here and i would think that with one or 2 penalties given out, that would smarten up alot of the slack we have in here period....again, just my 2 cents worth
Re: Payrolls 2014-2015
May I propose solutions/ideas:
I think we should not be allowed any moves (trades/signings) that put a team over the cap/roster limit. Because it is where teams break rules after some moves. So, If a team wants to sign a guy, he needs to be at 49 contracts or lower. If a team wants to acquire 4 guys against 2 put that puts him over the limit, he needs to release 2 guys before the trade, not after. If a team wants to trade players, the players he receives need to fit the cap. If a team would exceed the cap with a trade, but would fit the cap with a demotion once the deal is entered, this should be mentionned as soon as the deal is posted.
As for injuries that bring call-ups that put teams over the cap: If we want to play with a firm cap, I think the only solution is that If an injury brings you over the cap ( and you havent kept room for that ) you have either your best player out or something... Because these over the cap issues will happen because of injuries (although they shouldnt) and you should not be allowed an extra player that make you bust the cap.
I was penalized because a move I made earlier this season put me over the cap. Should have planned my things better. Lesson learned.

Exactly....you were pretty much my prime suspect inthings dont right snd by the rules and yes you did get a penalty......and so should other teams......i keep on saying and i wil say it again....LEVEL PLAYING FIELD......one GM gets fucked with it....alll should get fucked with it....plain and simple......Do i need to explain it further? No need to get confrontational about it. It's just an EHM league. And unless we're just trusting everyone to keep in line, someone will have to monitor things (as Mike said).Singin the BLUES wrote:How hard is it to count? Didnt you do that in school?

Wait, are we getting paid to be in this league?Singin the BLUES wrote:Do you really think NHL Gms think this way? Come on give ur head a shake.......r u a fuckin amateur?
The alternative is to release them first and then sign guys but then he'd have a whole bunch of fast-signs and would again be over the limit. He'd then have to release the fast-signs which would just be cruel to whoever's simming.Singin the BLUES wrote:...hmmm welll every Gm should have this mentality....hmmm ill put in 20 UFA offers...but IF i dont get them will then this is what i MIGHT do........fuckin wake up seriously buddy
Again, it's just an EHM league. So long as no one's getting an advantage from temporarily being over/under various rules, what difference does it make? It's still a level playing field. Just relax and try to enjoy your hobby.
He posted his releases so what's the problem?Singin the BLUES wrote:Gotta love how quickly TB Gm is entering this shit into EHM......if this goes unpenalized....i am out of this league........this is for SURE...not cool or good for league......so take you stance now Gms
