2014 EHEC Entry Draft

Post by Commish Bub(NYR) »

Okay folks, the draft starts today, at noon eastern time...in case there was anyone who hadn't gotten the memo.

All the trades (exc COL-WSH) have been entered, and the file updated:
http://www.ehechockey.com/EHEC.zip

Please take a look at the file soon to make sure I didn't miss any players, and you should also double check that no one had a con drop that didn't get recorded (they don't always show up in the news tab in the game).

The file will not be advanced until after the draft is completed...which will be a while, if past experience indicates future performance. As a reminder, below are the time limits for each round. The clock starts as soon as the previous pick is announced.

Round Time Limit
1st -- 12 hrs
2nd -- 12 hrs
3rd -- 8 hrs
4th -- 8 hrs
5th -- 6 hrs
6th -- 6 hrs
7th -- 6 hrs

Who's inactive and not expected to draft? Nashville, Philly, Montreal (has no picks anyways)... are they just getting top CSB?

We've gone by top NHL CSB, esp since EHM doesn't value defensemen properly.

Right, I mean is NSH going to be auto'd or are we going to wait 12 hours for his pick... he hasn't logged on since April.

Anyone who hasn't been around will be auto'd, along with orphan teams. So NSH, PHI, MTL, CHI, probably BUF too.

Would be interested in getting back into the first round for the right price.

I'd consider moving a combination of:

Magnus Hellberg
Yann Sauve
Rasmus Bengtsson
VAN 2nd 2014
NYR 2nd 2014
DET 2nd 2015
DAL 2nd 2015

Will listen to other ideas.

Ok, folks, we're moving through the fifth round now, so a couple things as we come closer to the end of this year's draft:

1. If you want to help speed things along, consider sending a draft list or instructions for your turn if you think you might miss it. Time limit for picks from now to the end of the draft is six hours from the previous pick.

2. Remember that 6th and 7th round picks cannot be traded.

Thanks, guys. Hopefully we'll get through the draft before too long and get to the free agency period. Plus, we'll come up with some rewards for draft review write-ups.

Here is the list of rewards for those submitting draft reviews. The number in brackets after each is the number of teams that will receive that award. I will wait to see if any more reviews come in tonight, and make the team and player selections tomorrow morning. All selections are random--except for numbers 1 and 8--so you take what you get.

Eligible teams so far: ANA, ARI, CGY, CAR, DAL, EDM, FLA, LA, NYI, NYR, OTT, SJ, TB, TOR, VAN, WSH, WPG

1. Extra underager on farm for 2014-15 [2]

2. +15 LE to most recently drafted goaltender and +3 CON [1]

3. Randomly selected prospect boosted to 6'2" height (from 2013 & 2014 draft only, does not include goalies) [2]

4. 18 ceiling points to random 2014 draftee (3 per each of 6 main categories - SH, PL, ST, CH, PO, HI) [2]

5. +15 PE and +10 SK ceiling points to random 2014 draftee [2]

6. One free booster (no $250K surcharge) AND 12 ceiling points (4 for each main OF or DF ceiling) [1]

7. +2 CON to each 2014 draft pick - cannot make player a booster, but could increase booster chances [2]

8. Add any undrafted 2014 player to your prospect pool as waiver claim and add 15 ceiling points (3 each) to five of six main categories, excluding HI [1]

9. Additional $1,000,000 in cap space for just 2014-15 OR +10 SH/PL ceiling AND +10 CH/PO ceiling to randomly selected 2014 draftee [2]

10. +15 PE AND +15 FA ceiling (if C) or +15 SK ceiling (LW/RW/D) to a 2014 draftee [2]

Fuck yes, +2 CON is sweet for all of the ~70ish CON prospects I took. Too bad I didn't take any pot boosters though.

The height boosts went to players who can actually use them, so the RNG must have been kind this year.

I like my reward.
Forsling just added 45 ceiling points to HI so I guess I might be a little jealous.

Julien and Zaq -- since both your guys can play center or wing, let me know which boost you'd like.

Are the draft review rewards supposed to be entered by now? I'm asking because Nedeljkovic didn't get his boost. Just making sure...
