Reasoning: Tough to lose Richards after how huge he was in the playoffs, but have chosen to go after Gaborik instead of keeping Richards. This deal also frees up some money to re-sign Tavares after this season. Raymond and Etem provide some depth that was lost in the Gaborik deal, and I add to my stockpile of late round picks.

With Richards I bring in a player that can replace Tavares until Sam is ready to be the number one. Raymond going the other way is a salary dump to make space and more of that will need to happen before the puck drops. Good deal - I'm basically able to bring in Richards for very little off my roster of core players.
