Boston receives:
C Tomas Hertl (75)
D Alex Grant (65)
Phoenix receives:
C Max Gardiner (64)
BOS 2014 1st round pick
After re-acquiring Tomas Kaberle, it was no longer critical to get a roster replacement for Alex Grant, but I still wanted to move his salary. Jason was interested in a package of Grant and Tomas Hertl, and after a little negotiation we came up with a return we could both live with. Continuing the trend of bringing back former Coyotes, Max Gardiner will pick up Hertl's mantle of resident faceoff specialist and sorta physical centre, and the draft pick gives me two picks in the first round next summer where I can hopefully pick up a long-term replacement for Grant. Thanks Jason, great doing business with you.
Phoenix approves this trade.

Re: BOS - PHX
Boston seconds this trade.
Right handed shot d-men are hard to find via trade, and I believe that Grant gives me an upgrade on my 3rd pairing over Dominik Bittner. Grant can play on the PK and not give anything up to the powerplay, plus he gives me more options as far as moving a certain other d-man for a kings ransom down the road.
Thomas Hertl fits more of my needs for my team over Max Gardiner, in that he's better in the faceoff circle, has better shooting capacities and can play a more physical game in the bottom 6. He's more money, but is also 2 years younger and still developing, so that helps as well.
I would have liked to keep Max Gardiner, but both Hertl and Grant are an improvement to my team right now to keep pace with the other Eastern conference teams, and not a few seasons down the road when the player I would have drafted with my 2014 1st rounder would have been ready.
Pleasure doing business with you, Parker.

This trade is approved. Value for both teams, and crafty Parker gets cap space. Boston gearing up for a run, too.
