The Flames and Coyotes prove to be too much to handle for the Ducks and the Jackets respectively. Both squads will now have some extra time to rest up for round two. Our 3/6 Central Division battle heads into game five at Chicago all tied up. Detroit's four goal third period will force da Hawks to sweat a little. Hugo's Kings jump on the Sharks early, but need a late rally to also even their series.

Wow. If someone had told me I'd sweep the first round despite Shane Doan's only goal being a meaningless empty-netter in the deciding game, I would've laughed derisively. Solid, consistent play from Bryzgalol and the the d-men along with strong performances from the kids... just a great all-around team effort really. I'm especially impressed with The Professor, who has done an admirable job filling in for Lauri Korpikoski.

Thanks for an exciting series, Adam. Best of luck to you next season.

Nice to see that the Schwartz-Thornton-Heatley experiment worked out. Too bad nothing else did. It would be nice if y'all Sharks could figure out winning on the road before round 2, thanks.

Also who the fuck is Jeremy Colliton. Christ, Forbort and Komisarek shut down Crosby for the first time in 18 games while going -4 each against some anonymous scrubs.

Essentially four one-goal losses. No PPGs. Sad.

Good luck the rest of the way, Parker.

Fun facts: Komisarek is a -7 in 4 playoff games so far, Getzlaf -5. They're my only two 80+ DF players. Meanwhile, two of my weakest defenders and rookies in Schwartz and Zaytsev are each +4. It is a mystery.

I'm also trying to figure out what happened at the end of the game. Thornton's line scored 2 goals and were +2, so none of them were on in the last minute. Getzlaf is the only guy who has a different +/- from his linemates, so he was probably the extra skater while Telegin and Radulov were sitting. So it looks like Doug Wilson's brilliant coaching either had a H&G second line out to try to tie the game or an NZT 4th line, while 4/5 80+ OFF forwards sat on the bench and watched in horror.

Congrats to Jonathan for at least making it to the post-season. You could have won both games in my house which would have made me sick.

Scott Niedermayer has points in all 4 games displaying what a tremendous leader he is, specially while Dion Phaneuf was serving his 3 games-suspension. He's showing why even if so close to retirement he was still worth giving up 30 goals-scorer Ryan Stoa for.

Detroit? LA? SJ?
Can't wait to see!
