Hoping someone claims him? I didn't call Emery up because his contract puts you over the salary cap. My assumption is that the intent wasn't to start him in the bigs.Bruins_GM wrote:Boston puts Ray Emery on re-entry waivers.

Re: Emery, he's in "limbo" tonight. Giving Jason a little time to figure things out. He inherited a shitty cap scenario.
As for me, assign Brophey and Wanvig to Springfield tonight. I'll release a couple guys tomorrow when I can update lines.

Re: Official Waiver Wire Thread
Minnesota has won the re-entry waiver claim on Ray Emery. Boston will owe Emery a 40% buyout* for the duration of the contract. Minnesota will assume the other 50%.
Because Emery's salary cap hit is still technically $2,000,000, he is not eligible for play in the AHL.
*Because Ray Emery was put on re-entry waivers prior to the hiring of a new Boston GM, I will allow his portion of the buyout to be the unconditional waiver price of 40%. He inherited the player with no choice but to promote him as a re-entry waiver player and thus should not be penalized.

Yeah, I don't know how that happened. Maybe it's because I called him up for a couple games and then sent him back.Parker wrote:Whoa Adam, you sure Vopatized the fuck out of Fiddler. Nice going.

Re: Official Waiver Wire Thread
Once a player hits age 31 if you play him in farm games his attributes will plummet. I believe it's okay to park a 31-or-over on the farm roster as long as you don't dress him for games, but don't quote me on that. Maybe one of the other fhockey old-timers here could confirm that.Commissioner (CBJ) wrote:Yeah, I don't know how that happened. It might be based on greed or something.Parker wrote:Once a player hits age 31 if you play him in farm games his attributes will plummet. Modano and Sundin really didn't go that far downhill when they were stashed in Wilkes-Barre. I can't think of other examples right off the top of my head. Rob Niedermayer didn't vopatize like Vern Fiddler. He didn't keep his attributes all that high, but he didn't become totally useless.
I know guys over 30 are at risk, but it seems to happen without rhyme or reason to some, but not others.

Probably the same for the others then as well. Just played in the AHL playoffs.

Re: Official Waiver Wire Thread
Yeah, it's just playing games. If they don't play, they don't Vopatize. And some drop more rapidly than others, in my experience. I've had Erskine in the AHL all year and he hasn't dropped a point. Hasn't played, either...

Re: Official Waiver Wire Thread
It's too bad I actually give a shit about the performance of my AHL club, or I'd be starting Auld for every game until he hit 20 OA. I wonder if dressing him as the backup would work?
