Game 7

Post by Montreal Canadiens »

Who takes it. Do the Canucks do as expected and bounce back and hoist the cup for the first time in their existence, or does Boston shock and come from behind?

Vancouver wins, and a Canadian team breaks the hearts of Bruins fans again. As B-A-D as the Nucks have looked most of the time on the road, they've been killers at home, at least in this series. Final score 2-1, with Stan Smyl getting the GW from Thomas Gradin and Andre Boudrias.

Luongo's answered the bell every time he's needed to, except for Game 6 of the Quarters, but that was on the road.

Vancouver wins in a thriller where they kill off a huge final push from the Bruins late in the third.

Kesler with the game winner because warriors get rewarded.

As long as there no game 8. I'm tired of this series... it kinda sucks really.

Vancouver takes it at home. Boo ya Bruins.

Vancouver's been an absolute disgrace in half of the games and squeaked out three close ones at home... yet they still have to be the favourite, given Roberto's tale of two-goalies performance. I'd like Boston to find their offense on the road, but I kinda doubt it. Bracing myself to let Canucks fans have their moment... just don't wanna.

I'm betting against the home team this time and also making the tough wager that Julien will pull his head from out of his ass and get the Bruins playing the same game they do at home on the road.

nice!

i do want to add if the consensus occurs and VAN pulls it off, Parker's dream season continues as he called this one to a tee.

Hehe. I actually said the first six games would be close and then Vancouver would win a blowout Game 7. I wouldn't say that Boston's three victories were close, but Vancouver's were. So far I'm half right. :P

Hey, I was right on a slightly less than 50-50 prediction. Go me.

Unfortunately the Bruins won the Cup. Why couldn't this final have been SJ-TB so I could have safely not cared who won it?

The team disgusted me and the reaction from the so called "fans" completely and utterly disgusted me. I've never felt more ashamed to live here and I've never been this disappointed in a city even though half the riot starters are fucken morons from the suburbs who have nothing better to do than to destroy what is a top 10 city in the world.

these rioteers spoil all the fun, too. years ago a bunch of punks ripped the goal posts down and got themselves maced at Ohio St., and now perfectly legal and responsible citizens (such as myself) can't even sniff a frosty beer within a 100 mile radius of the city on game day. i can honestly say that since i was 18 or so, i have been to literally hundreds (if not a thou by now) of sporting events and had at least one beer (very often more) at EVERY one of them and i have never disturbed anyone. now because of these punks who are looking to draw attention to themselves, i can't order a beer?

what a waste, and as you say, at the expense of a beautiful, world class city.

Glad to see your reaction to this because I feel exactly the same way about it and exactly the same way I'd feel if this happened in Cleveland, though we're far from a top 10 city in the world.

I have no idea what message they think they're sending by destroying the city. I understand there's a lot of frustration and a lot of disappointment, but this is far from the way to handle it.

It'll be an interesting offseason for the Canucks now. I'm thinking they're an impact defenseman away. Not sure if they can find one, but even the roster as it's constructed now can get back to the Finals next year.

Sorry to my Vancouver brethren. Lots of emotions coming out. I can't imagine what Clevelanders would be like if one of our teams got this far and came up just short. We haven't won a pro title since 1964. And we have three shots at it every year.

Kudos to you guys for handling it the right way, though. I know it can't be easy.

Losing Hamhuis was big. Their defense was out of sync after that.

They are not an impact defensemen away they are a healthy group of defensemen away. Hamhuis, Edler, Ehrhoff all injured. Tough to compete IMO.

Yes. Who was injured? Nathan Horton?

OK. Compare that to Henrik Sedin, Ryan Kesler, Mason Raymond, Manny Malhotra, Mikael Samuelsson, Dan Hamhuis, Alexander Edler, and Christian Ehrhoff with Aaron Rome suspended. Yeah.......comparable.....not.

EDIT:

Seeing all the imagines this morning of all the people who made their way downtown to clean up is pretty amazing.

Vancouver's D is great, and they have Yann Sauve coming up probably next year. The Bruins were just too well coached by Claude Julien. What a man!

What I'm saying is that everyone is playing injured at this time of the year. Aaron who ? I'd rather loss Aaron Rome than fricking Nathan Horton who's been so clutch all playoffs.

whatever.

It's completely Luongo's fault we scored 8 goals in 7 games......I mean he should have had atleast 2.

I don't understand how this is lost in the shuffle. Just over a goal a game is pathetic and/or excellent goaltending by Thomas. Boston competed well in the games in Vancouver, the other way around not so much.

Thomas was good, but the Canucks made him look a lot better than he played. 40 shots in Game 7 that were all from the outside or with no screens.

I agree, but a high paid goalie like LOLuongo is supposed to give his team a chance to win EVERY game. Games 3, 4 and 6 he didn't. You can't just give away 3 games of a 7 game series. He's not going to deserve the amount of shit that gets piled on by Canadian/Vancouver sports media, but you come out and say your not getting enough attention then lay an egg in Game 6 of the SC finals......it'll be a long off-season for him.

Was just talking to Adam about this awhile ago. Holding a team scoreless or to one goal a night every game isn't realistic, but yes, four in four minutes can effectively end a lot of games. Basically, the Vancouver Canucks are to blame for the Vancouver Canucks loss.
