Rookie Arthur Kaliyev scores his first NHL goal in his third game, Martindale activated from IR, Rakell to play 4th line, Thompson demoted

"I'm pretty much used to score some goals every single game, but this is something else. But I'm ready to get used to this feeling too" - Arthur Kaliyev after scoring his first goal as a Dallas Star.

Assistant Coach Brett Hull: " Ryan (Martindale) is 100% ready to play in the next game. So that will put Rakell to 4th line. He wasn't bad in his 3 games taking Ryan's spot, so we're content with it now. We'll see how it goes. It's up to them now."

Head Coach Jere Lehtinen, when asked about Hawryluk and Thompson: "Yeah, those kids have some talent in them, but their effort didn't convince us that much, yet. They're still young so their time will come. They just have to work hard and be patient. Jayce (Hawryluk) will travel with us as a healthy-scratch and Tage Thompson will be demoted to AHL for now. Actually, Kaliyev is having a great start to his NHL career so he's a teenager who's taking their spots. That's how it is. And that's a good thing. That's the competition our coaching staff loves to see."
