2009-2010 EHEC Awards

The EHEC has released the annual list of award nominees. For each category in which the winner is voted, there are three nominees.


HERE ARE THE CANDIDATES FOR THE SEASON 2009-2010!


Vezina Trophy (Annual award given to the goalie that best excels in his position)

1. Martin Brodeur, Tampa Bay Lightning (75 GP, 47 Wins, 91.1 Sv%, 5 SO, 2.07 GAA)
2. Henrik Lundqvist, New York Rangers (81 GP, 52 Wins, 90.1 Sv%, 7 SO, 2.26 GAA)
3. Tuukka Rask, Boston Bruins (73 GP, 47 Wins, 89.4 Sv%, 3 SO, 2.51 GAA)


Jack Adams Award (Annual award given to the EHEC coach adjudged to have contributed the most to his team's success)

1. Dave Lewis, Boston Bruins (55-23-4, 25 Road wins, Conference Finals)
2. John Tortorella, New York Rangers (53-22-7, 85.61%PK, Most road wins with 26)
3. Rick Tocchet, Tampa Bay Lightning (53-23-6, 20.85%PP, Stanley Cup Champions)


Calder Memorial Trophy (Annual award given to the player selected as the most proficient in his first year of competition in the EHEC)

1. Jonathan Bernier, Los Angeles Kings (57 GP; 90.2 Sv%, 2.43 GAA, only 13 losses)
2. Artem Anisimov, New York Rangers (63 GP; 57 pts, +12)
3. Simeon Varlamov, Washington Capitals (77 GP; 90.1 Sv%, 49 wins, 5 shutouts)


Hart Memorial Trophy (Annual award given to the player judged to be the most valuable to his team)

1. Rick Nash, Columbus Blue Jackets (+128 T/G, 228 Hits given, 94 pts in 79 GP, +19)
2. Joe Thornton, San Jose Sharks (100 pts in 82 GP, 20 PP goals, +10)
3. Jarome Iginla, Calgary Flames (+96 T/G, 212 Hits given, 91 pts in 82 GP)


Lady Byng Memorial Trophy (Annual award given to the player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability)

1. Martin St.Louis, Tampa Bay Lighting (13 game winners, 24 PIM, 84 pts in 80 GP)
2. Alexander Ovechkin, Washington Capitals (18 PIM, 89 pts in 76 GP)

James Norris Memorial Trophy (Annual award given to the defense player who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-round ability in the position)

2. Jack Johnson, Los Angeles Kings (63 pts in 82 GP, +23)

Frank J. Selke Trophy (Annual award given to the forward who best excels in the defensive aspects of the game)

Bruins would like to note that they organizationally voted for Ranger coach John Tortorella over Bruin Dave Lewis for the Adams' and that Tuukka Rask had just as good of a rookie campaign as King Jonathan Bernier.
