Farewell to All of You

Gentlemen, rather than make some sort of announcement during the playoffs, I figured that now would be the best time to inform all of you of a very tough decision that I have had to make. Over the past couple of weeks, my interest level in the league has dwindled to next to nothing. For whatever reason, I just do not feel like putting forth my time and efforts when I could be working on other projects or spending time with my fiancee and friends.
So, with that out in the open, I am announcing my resignation as your league Commissioner effective at the end of the season. I will continue my current day-to-day tasks, as well as any other league business that comes my way. I am leaving with full confidence knowing that Ryan and Nick are very capable sets of hands to continue this league and sustain its growth and progress.
To those of you who I knew before we started the league, I know this must feel like some deja vu to you. I give you a very heartfelt apology for that. I'm sure that this must be your worst nightmare in terms of a sim league and I really have no explanation for my feelings and actions. I simply just feel apathetic toward the process and, rather than just abandon you completely with not so much as a word, I feel it best to announce my plans and give plenty of transition time to Ryan and Nick.
To those of you who I have met through the league, it has been an honor to meet all of you and be somebody you trusted and gave your time to. The dedication of so many of you in EHEC has been very inspiring, yet somehow the inspiration has worn off on me.
To my great friend Ryan, I apologize with every part of myself for the way that things are shaking out here. I know you will be an extremely capable Commissioner and that you will continue the greatness that we started from the ground up. I will always be around to give you advice or help you with any EHM file issues that may arise. Your friendship means a lot to me and I hope none of our bonds are shattered by this choice of mine.
To Nick, a man I have grown to respect and know quite well over the past 8-9 months, I know that you have a special sort of dedication to the league despite an increasingly hectic personal schedule, and that eases my mind into knowing that you will continue to carry the torch of this league as well. Without question, between you and Ryan, I know that EHEC will run smoother than ever and continue to be the league that other leagues aspire to be.
On some level, I feel an enormous burden off my shoulders. It can be difficult to be responsible for the upkeep of a league where 29 other guys are constantly looking to you to put forth your time, money, and efforts for them to get a few hours of enjoyment a week. But, on another level, I feel like I am letting all of you down. And I probably am. I have constantly given the appearance that I am here for the long haul and that this would not be a temporary league that falls apart as so many of us have been a part of those. Even without me, though, this league will not fall apart and I will see to it that these next few months allow me to hand the day-to-day operations over to Ryan and Nick and they will see to it that EHEC continues to be the same sense of enjoyment for all of you.
Again, it is with a heavy heart that I make this announcement. I just feel like it would be a disservice to all of you to continue while my heart is not involved in the process.
Best wishes to all of you in your endeavors, whether they be school, relationships, careers, etc. Through talking to many of you, I know that you are bright individuals with goals and a strong sense of who you are. Those attributes will carry you very far. It has been an honor to serve as your Commissioner and I do not regret any of the hours I spent working on league updates and sims.
Respectfully,
Your Commissioner
