We wanted to trade Michalek since we wouldn't have been able to afford him next year. He's a strong player, but we get a very dynamic offensive player who posted around a PPG for the last 4 years. He's less costly and he's consistent, that's the key of what we were looking for in Columbus. We also get two picks to compensate Michalek's strong ratings.

Hard nosed players are tough to come by. I love his hitting and his checking and he can score 20 goals too. Milan will fit great on the second line and playing with Beck will automatically increase his points total. Boedker's contract is expiring and CGY's #1 is a good pick but a late 1st rounder. Didn't want to lose Boedker for nothing.

Detroit is going to hit hard next year!
