To Columbus:
Zbynek Michalek (76)
Fernando Pisani (85)
To Los Angeles:
Mattias Ohlund (83)
This is a very simple deal to pull off. Ohlund makes 3.5M and Michalek + Pisani is 3.425M, so I gain minimal cap space, but every little bit counts. When I came back, I realized that I had seven defensemen all making 3.1M or more. With Murphy and Ohlund gone, that number is down to five and I have cheaper depth options in Michalek and McFaull. Pisani is a high CON depth forward to add some of the leadership I'm losing by trading Ohlund. This transaction really works hand-in-hand with the last one. Cheaper depth is something I needed and something I received in both deals. Also, I think Ohlund will start to decline a bit, so that made him expendable, even though he's still a highly-rated player in the file. Both Ohlund and Michalek expire at the same time and Pisani is basically a full-season rental.
Pleasure doing business with you, Hugo.
