Admittedly, Varlamov gave up a lot of goals for a bad Flyers team. But he did post a decent save percentage, and is still one of the top-notch goalies in the league. He is expensive for a cap league, which is the argument his GM made. His CON is adequate, and his LE does not stand out. But he is a Vezina winner, and has proven that he can perform with a good team in front of him. His agent asked to hold the line on his salary, while his GM asked for the max deduction. A major deduction is not warranted, I feel, but a slight one brings him right in line with probably his closest comp, Cam Ward. I award Varlamov 4.5M for 2 years.

MacInnis only needs 4.55 and 7-year contracts can only be handed out for 5M+ deals.

There are 2 lines for Ryan MacInnis, one at 4.55 and one at 4.95...!

Also, I thought the maximum contract length rule only applied to UFAs. I don't think Bjugstad, Pysyk and Benn are, but I don't find in the rulebook the definition of a UFA?
