I feel this trade helps me out more than it hurts me, I have plenty of defense so while losing Ellerby hurts it shouldn't be too much of a major concern with Somerby hopefully able to fill some of that loss. Getting Wannstrom is important for me as I felt I needed a better offensive option than Nino Niederreiter to play on our top line, Wannstrom will do that. Palmieri with his hitting deserved to be playing more and I just couldn't get him in the lineup often enough, hopefully Dallas will be able to use him better than I could. Shore gives me a bit of flexibility, not great at anything but solid at most things, could be used in many situations for me.

Although I'm giving up Wannstrom, who's young and pretty good offensively, I'm happy that I'm getting Ellerby in exchange for him, who's young too and excellent defensively and he's top-four defenseman in my team (with Orpik, Fistric and Bieksa), they all are hard-hitting defenseman, so Keaton really fits in to my system. (and I still have lots of other offensive players like Wannstrom)

Trading Shore, who's solid in many thing, but not excellent in anything while Palmieri is hard-hitting winger, still young and pretty disciplined, he will fit great with Neal and Caputi on the third-line as a shutdow trio.
