Reasoning:
This trade seems like it makes no sense because I sent Whitney and Chara to previously get Forsberg, but Edler is much younger than Chara and my team hasn't been playing like I want it this year with a weaker defense. The addition of Chris Higgins gave me more flexibility to move a forward. And, JVR will move up to line 1. As for Olesz, he was a throw-in for me to be able to afford Edler.

*I know this does not mirror reality, once again, but I felt this was much needed. I'm imposing myself a trade ban till trade deadline.

Reasoning:

Though Edler is my best overall defenseman, he's a pricey one. While I have to eat a salary in Olesz, I obtain another offensive piece for my future in Forsberg while also freeing up cap space for future moves/call ups.

Thanks for the deal Bern, Edler should fit in nicely on the Penguins.
