to CGY: Mark McNeill (86), Charlie Coyle (71)

to CHI: Wayne Simmonds (76), Sean Bergenheim (62)

Simmonds is one of the best cost effective 3rd line H&G winger in the league. His salary will stay cheap for a long time and he has decent CON to go with his great HI. Bergenheim is NHL depth or AHL top 6 forward.

McNeill will most likely replace Bobby Ryan on my NZT 2nd line alongside Gagner and Zherdev. He has still some growing to do specially in strength. He's an expensive player though at 2M$ with only this season left on his contract. I don't know about Coyle, he's got strengths and weaknesses but I guess he will be helping my farm team for now.

The cap space I got from moving guys Ryan, Kipper and Shattenkirk allows me to do this kind of deal where I get the better package of players. I will need to pay them eventually though.

It was a pleasure helping you with your cap issues.

Chicago accepts

reasoning: oh that darn cap. we hate to see McNeill go. he boosted into a solid checking line center for years to come. we were looking forward to him replacing Manny Malholtra, but his salary was going to be an issue to work around the rest of this year (having 20 guys on the roster is no way to run a railroad), and more improtantly the prospect of re-signing him after the pain of the last two summers re-signing guys made the decision for us. Coyle has got a great shot and can definitely log minutes on the big club, but he really turned off Hawks management by disappearing at the end of last year and then whining about his future when we were losing in the playoffs. bye bye

in Simmonds we are getting some much needed grit on the wing we lost last year in trading Ladd away. he has a much more team friendly salary and we can't wait for him to do some damage out there. Bergenheim is a hockey player and has a driver's licence and an alarm on his iPhone so he can make it to the games and practices on time.

thanks Julien! a pleasure doing business with you.
