Detroit jumps out to an early 3-0 lead at home and survives the Toews barrage in the third period. The Red Wings' victory forces a deciding seventh game. Season four will crown a new champion as the Kings avoid the return trip to San Jose.

Shawn Horcoff 4 goal this round, to me he's a monster. First defense pair, Johnson and Merrill have play a solid game, shut down Sharks big gun and added a goal and a pass each. Can't wait to see my next opponent.

I had a great set of lines saved and of course didn't manage to upload them. Solid coaching there, Mr. Wilson.

Oh well, the way these losers were playing a 5-1 loss is not unexpected. Nik Backstrom ends the playoffs second only to Detroit's goalies in godawful save % (.857), worse even than Gibson in Florida. Komisarek puts up a -10 in 6 games. Forbort leads the team in scoring with 6 points aaaand a whopping -5 in game 6. Jumbo Joe puts up a wicked 3 points in 6 games. What a wet fart to end the season.

Best of all is another first round exit means the Sharks have 4 playoff rounds won in 4 years, which is exactly enough to win a Cup, fortunately. I suppose it's better than losing in the second round every year.

Good luck to you in the next round, Hugo. Try to make it a 3rd straight Cup for Pacific division teams.

One last thing before I forget:

Other notes:
-Pavel Kubina beat Paul Stastny in a fight.

You are a winner Pavel Kubina. Stay strong.

Question, how is draft order determined re: the playoffs? Is it only the SC winner becomes 30th or do the rest of the rounds have an impact?

Not a needle at Dan; however, ouch.

15 through 26 are determined by standings order of teams eliminated in the first two rounds. The conference final losers pick 27 and 28, and Cup loser 29, winner 30.

Draft order (assuming favorites all win) would be:
1. Toronto
2. Dallas
3. NYI
4. NYR
5. Minnesota
6. Vancouver
7. Ottawa
8. Philly
9. Colorado
10. Edmonton
11. Buffalo
12. Nashville
13. St. Louis
14. Tampa Bay
15. Anaheim
16. Columbus
17. Florida
18. Boston
19. TBD
20. TBD
21. TBD
22. TBD
23. TBD
24. TBD
25. TBD
26. TBD

San Jose could pick as high as 21st or as low as 25th.

We'll use the real-life NHL Draft Lottery again.

Much to Walters's chagrin.
