NYR sends: L Taylor Leier (78) and 2013 SJ 2nd Rd. pick

da hawk reasoning: Bickell is a nice defensive specialist and fairly disciplined for a big hitter, but he is a little expensive for the 4th line. basically, i have 3 Centers who are under 21 who can play his role at less cost, but with less defense. Leier needs to boost to be anything but a minor leaguer, but even if he doesn't he will help.

key to the deal is the swap of second round picks as the San Jose pick is SURE TO BE HIGHER than da Hawks' pick,. because we're awesome.

Bickell has a bit of a price tag, but my finances will be well sorted by this summer. He's a good fit on the 3rd or 4th line and is the kind of hitting forward this team needs. Leier should boost and be a steady checking forward, but I have no shortage of developing forwards in my system now.

The picks should be close to each other, so they're almost a wash. This way Fem gets to tweak Dan the rest of the season.
