Hey fans,
The Nashville Predators are opening up their 2012-2013 season tomorrow night against the Red Wings in Detroit at the Joe Louis arena.
The Predators finished 8th in the Western Conference last season after finishing 41-33-8 but lost in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs to the Columbus Blue Jackets in a weird game 7 game. Why weird ? Because it was speculated after that very game that the referees had made a bet FOR the Blue Jackets and were letting a whole lot of penalty calls fly by. Anyway, a loss is a loss. Let's focus on the next season.
Things looks bright with that Nashville defense. Here's the lineup for now for tomorrow's game:
Line 1: Gagné Wilson Dumont
Pairing 1: Weber Suter
Line 2: Kugryshev Shipley Erat
Pairing 2: Blum Ellis
Line 3: King Stewart Miller
Pairing 3: Vishnevski Exelby
Line 4: Tootoo Smithson Grimaldi
With Pickard probably getting the start.
For now, the focus of Nashville's GM is to get under the god damn NHL salary cap. The Preds are around 500K over the cap and will need to make a move before the season opener or else Gary Buttman will punish the team. For now, no news on how they will accomplish that but keep in touch, we'll let you know if any news comes up. Fans hope that 2009-2010 Stanley Cup final team can be seen again and revive the hope of a dead hockey city. Oh yeah, with all those Quebec moving the team rumors, let's hope things get better in Nashville.
New acquisition: Simon Gagné
Predicted finish: 7th in Western Conference
Leading scorer: Colin Wilson
