to Columbus Blue Jackets: Colby Armstrong(63), Joonas Korpisalo(75), Scott Laughton(82)
to Pittsburgh Penguins: Daniel Gunnarsson(91), Anthony Stolarz(81)
Reasoning:
I had Ty Wishart on my top 6 (danger in playoffs!) and I had a forward to spare on my top 9 with David Clarkson rotting on the 4th line playing 20sec. I regretted trading one of my 90+hitting guys Shawn Matthias to CGY, but I think Gunnarsson is a safer bet now with his 90+CON. As for the goalie swap, I forced Adam into it and he's the one that snagged Stolarz off of me 1 spot before me in last year's draft, which led to me taking Laughton and Korpisalo later in the round.
Colby in the West to fuck up Joe Thornton!

Re: Columbus Blue Jackets -- Pittsburgh Penguins
Columbus accepts.
I'm concerned about my defense at forward and adding a balanced defender like Armstrong will help immensely. He's still 75 CH and PO to go along with his 90+ HI. With a lot of offensively-gifted youth being added into the fold this offseason, I kind of neglected the defensive side of things on the wings. Armstrong fills a big need for me in that regard and his 70 SH gives me some versatility on where to play him.
Gunnarsson is going to be a very good player, but I've got a surplus of defensemen and it's hard to pass on a 90+ HI forward with no real lacking parts of his game. As it is, with Connor Murphy likely making my roster, somebody (Francois Beauchemin!!) will have to go when Erik Gudbranson comes back.
As for the goaltender swap, Bern insisted that Armstrong was better than Gunnarsson. While I disagreed, Laughton was added in to fill the gap between Stolarz and Korpisalo. Both goaltenders need a lot of seasoning and my real sticking point with the swap was Korpisalo's horrendous LE, which will rise very slowly, if at all. Stolarz already had a LE in the 60s, in case I ever needed to rely on him.
Laughton should be a mid 70s OF forward with good SH and PL and he's a high CON player that I won't have to worry about.
Pleasure doing business, Bern.

Approved.
Gunnarsson provides Pittsburgh with help on defense; Columbus adds some gritty forwards. For giving up quantity Pittsburgh receives a better consistency goalie in Stolarz, who will take time to develop.
