Draft Reviews, Free Agency, Etc.

The draft is done! Yay! Let's all rejoice.

So, here's a rough schedule of the next week.

I'm not doing anything tonight. Have some other business to attend to.

Contracts that need to be submitted before the rollover must be posted by Tuesday night at 9 p.m. EST. I'm going to advance the file through the rollover and up to 8/29.

That means that on Wednesday at 12 p.m. EST, free agency will begin. Please familiarize yourself with the process. Download the latest file on Wednesday so you can see who all is availiable.

I will be entering final arbitrations/contracts tomorrow and upload the file tomorrow night with the draft entered. So, make sure that if you want to keep somebody, you extend a contract to them. They'll be FAs on Wednesday and you cannot re-sign a guy that you let walk to FA.

For the remainder of the offseason, I'll be doing what I can to get an IRC channel together for us so that we can have some CBA negotiations. There will also be a thread that we'll keep posting in.

I'll do the 2012-13 schedule somewhere along the line.

Have your draft reviews submitted by Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. EST if you want to be eligible for draft review rewards, just like the past couple of seasons. You must mention ALL of your picks, any trades/transactions you completed during the draft, and whatever else.

Any questions, ask here:

In summation:
Contracts to draftees/expiring players must be in by Tuesday at 9 p.m. EST.
Free agency starts Wednesday at 12 p.m. EST.
Draft reviews due by Friday at 3 p.m. EST.

Whoa, I have a lot of prospects.

Actually more like a decent number of prospects and a whole bunch of sarcastic air quote prospects.

Not as many as the Rangers!

Everything look alright with the draft input? Didn't fuck anything up, did I?

Per this post, NYI gets to make one more selection from the 2012 draft class. I'll be sure to post who he wants to take or he can post it.

How do we familiarize with the upcoming UFAs?
Do we have to advance the file like 4 days? If so, then we have to handle the team options?

Help a brother out!

Really going to try and get this file advanced through the summer tonight. Time not really on my side, but we'll see what happens.

Any unsigned staff will go FA. I'll do those last if you haven't done that yet.

I realize that I'm going to have issues with those franchise tag contracts. If they don't sign, in the interest of time, I'm going to manually input them after the rollover.

The moment of truth....the rollover!

Players who boosted:
Heikki Liedes (CBJ)
Joel Armia (CBJ)
Quentin Shore (DAL)
Stefan Noesen (DAL)
Marcel Noebels (FLA)
Lukas Sedlak (NYI)
Adam Johnson (NYR)
Joseph Cramarossa (PHI)
Matthew Nieto (PHI)
Joseph Labate (PHX)
Matt Killian (SJ)
Colten St. Clair (SJ)
Dalton Smith (TB)
Sam Grist (TOR)
Nicklas Jensen (VAN)
Edward Wittchow (WSH) (2x)

Players who busted:
Sergei Smurov (DAL)

All players who boosted will have at least 250k added to their salaries. More if they double or triple boosted.

Can't decide if I'm surprised or not that only two of the 2012 class boosted. One of the 2010 class (Smith). Rest were all 2011.

All booster surcharges for boosting have been added.

Had some issues where guys didn't sign contracts and the game didn't tell me that they had rejected their offers. Going back through and fixing that. I'm going to upload the file after that so I can call it a night. I have a list of players to take off of retirement. I'll do that tomorrow morning.

While my recent conduct doesn't warrant Smith boosting, getting a 99 HIT with 80+ CON is AMAZING

There you go, boys. EHEC file has been cut by about 60% in size.

FA starts tomorrow at noon EST. No bidding on Olivier Roy. Have to handle that situation with EDM in private.

Ffffffff all of my 2012 boosters signed on time but didn't boost and neither did Yuen

Oh well, let's see how training camp w-

Players reporting out of shape:
- Oscar Klefbom D
- Pavel Kubina D
- Niklas Kronwall D
- Mike Komisarek D
- Jack Skille R
- Kyle Wellwood C
- Matt Killian D
- Dany Heatley L
- Colin Stuart L
- Lasse Kukkonen D
- Tomas Filippi C
- Jeff Tambellini L

Players reporting in good shape:
- Jaden Schwartz L
- Matt MacKenzie D
- Taylor Doherty D
- Colten St. Clair C
- Andrei Vasilevski G
- Alexei Ponikarovsky R
- Jiri Novotny C
- Geordie Wudrick L
- Frans Nielsen C
- Ryan Getzlaf C
- Johan Ryno R
- Derek Forbort D

4 of my top 6 D and Heatley are out of shape and the only E5 bonus eligible defenseman I have gets the boost, plus a bunch of shitty farmers and free agents.

I always suspected Heatley's a lazy ass when he's not scoring goals or crashing cars.

On another note, before people like me start signing every 69 OV player to rule the AHL, is the AHL salary cap going to be enforced next season or some kind of 25 player AHL roster limit?

Joseph Labate boosted! Insert "FUCK YEAH!!!" emoticon here.

Brennan Serville didn't double boost. He didn't even single boost. What the fuck, Adam.

Vanin didn't boost either, but it looks like he didn't sign the contract until after the rollover anyway. Oh well.

is this supposed to upset me? not gonna happen. i knew as surely as i know anything that he would not have boosted had i kept him. and i knew he would boost for Justin Tillycomes the second i accepted the deal.

maybe it is the massive amount of sedation i am under, but i could care less right now.

Must have passed over Labate, my bad. I remember looking at your team news page.

I was surprised at what seemed like a relatively low number of boosters. A lot of guys who I offered contracts to on the 18th didn't even sign until after the rollover. I'd expect a high number of boosts in next year's rollover.

AHL rosters are going to be made up of nothing but draftees by this point.

We have a 26-man roster limit in the AHL that I did check a few times last season.

As far as the salary cap, underagers don't count toward it (as of now), so it's largely irrelevant. Could very well change during CBA talks.

A quick addendum to free agency: I know we have some players who will never get 75% of their previous contract...

For players who were unsigned free agents during the 2011-12 season, their minimum bid is 50% of their previous contract.

So, basically, guys like Afinogenov, Poti, Pothier, etc.

Probably won't change a whole hell of a lot, but we'll see.

Labate didn't show up in the Team News tab.

Which means I now have to look over every booster to see if they boosted. Fuck me.

So far, Labate's the only one I've seen that boosted without the game telling me. Went back through the 2011 class. Naturally, I can't find my notes on the 2010 class, so I have no idea who the boosters are, not that it matters because they were pre-financial policy so there's no booster upgrade charge.

I know I'll get asked this question, but with the blind bidding system, you sometimes have to guess if you have the highest bid or not. If you get a PM that says "Bid(s) received" and the previous high bid hasn't been exceeded, you can assume that your bid is not the highest. Be aware that bids sometimes come in around the same time, so you may or may not have the high bid.

Going to try and catch up on some things today. Most notably, the file update I said I was going to do on Friday. Got caught up in things, and then the weekend, and then last night my fiancee and I got pissed on at a concert by some drunken douchebag who is lucky I didn't cave his face in before the police showed up.

Also need to sort through draft previews and rewards.
