Reasoning:

Added Morris who I plan on pairing with Bogosian. Gormley and Pietrangelo make up a second pair, leaving Ellerby a bit over qualified for third pairing duty. Swap also clears up some salary room as I'm currently dangerously close to $60M. And finally, want a player here that I don't think lasts much longer.

With the pick 18, i was looking to take a defenseman, but none really caught my attention. With Burns leaving to CHI, Ellerby will replace him immediately instead of waiting for a young d-man. Really like the consistency of Ellerby too.

Ellerby is probably better than any defenseman left on the board and is already a fully developed player with a good CON and a high HI attribute.
