Paul Ranger is the latest injury victim, brought down by one David Krejci, who is now suspended three games.

Florida, my only wish is that you play the Capitals just as tough on Thursday. Bastards. Nashville stays alive in the Western race, as the Canucks manage just a single point at home with the Ducks. San Jose expected the Stars to lay down. They did, only after a taking a two goal lead in the first period. Columbus escapes their visit to Phoenix with a nice consolation point.

It was that timely goal from Boyd "You Want Him?" Gordon.

Jeez, this is intense. I still need one point to clinch the division and two to clinch the league, both of which are far from a given with a home-and-home vs LA left. @LA is pretty much a guaranteed loss (whopping 3-32-2 in test sims ) and I could still lose the division by losing both games in regulation. And now STL is highly likely to pick up a win today (no offense James) and would have a good shot at making the playoffs over Vancouver.

Holy hell, I never won more than 2-1 in the sims, so this is pleasantly unexpected. That in mind, I detest that any game can have shot totals of 41-11, and I hope that is something we can address in the off-season.

Good luck Thursday Philadelphia, neither one of us could ask for a better opportunity! How does the tiebreaker work, and do you have it? Cause I suppose regardless of tomorrow's game we could still be tied come Saturday night.

While I somehow forgot to put it in the current .pdf Rulebook, it was in the old HTML one.

Even still, there are ethics involved when it comes to possible tanking and it's completely unacceptable.

The league is reviewing the incident regarding the Toronto-Buffalo game.

It's a valid point and I've approached Mike in private to hear what he has to say on the matter.

We're also looking into it as a Committee. All sides and reasons will be explored. We've always shown the ability to look at things democratically. That won't magically change.

I've also, for the sake of fairness, asked Mike if he wants to request to keep Ryan out of the Committee discussion, as last night's result clearly affects him the most.

If he was doing it for any prolonged amount of time during the season (3+ games) I could see it being an issue. However, sitting your franchise player the last couple of games of the year, that have absolutely zero consequence for his franchise, shouldn't be considered tanking.

If I'm mathematically eliminated before game eighty-two, Tyler Seguin and Steven Stamkos won't be going anywhere near ice-level on game day for the rest of the year. Champagne coolies with me and Mac in the pressbox FTW

As I said, we will examine all sides of the issue.

There are other factors in play besides just scratching players. However, that's between Mike, Tommy, Ryan, and myself.

After talking to Mike and discussing with my Committee, the league has chosen not to penalize Toronto for possible tanking during the April 3 game against Buffalo.

We will be looking to institute new policies that will level the playing field with regards to orphaned teams' lines and teams who are not consistently updating their lines late in the season when they are out of the running for a playoff spot and are simply hoping to lose games to get lotto balls.

Unfortunately, auto-lining only shifts personnel and doesn't change the tactics that are in place. We will create a universal format for line tactics to use after auto-lining the personnel.

Sorry guys(Especially Ryan), I didn't mean to piss anyone off.

In one season, I get in trouble for trying to win illegally(H&G first line) and trying to lose(Tank tactics). hahahaha

This isn't directed at Mike or anyone else, but if an NHL GM were to do this they'd be fired immediately. Plus probably sued by the players/NHLPA for being scratched without cause, shunned by agents for treating players poorly, booed by fans for purposely putting a shitty product on the ice, and investigated by the NHL's competition committee.

I mean the NHL lottery already makes tanking a questionable proposition. I can't think of a team that has seriously tried it since the lottery was instated, and from a quick search the worst the Penguins did when they tanked for Lemieux (pre-lottery) was to send down a bad young goalie and replace him with an even worse one for 4 games.

No worries, in the end I shouldn't have put myself in this ridiculous position to begin with, your one game of doing that won't be my undoing.

Well it's too bad this isn't the NHL. The RL Leafs scratched assistant captains and have started a lesser goalie(Scrivens is no better than Reimer or Gustavsson) and yet Brian Burke still has his job.
