As you've already seen, Phoenix gets the best of San Jose, who also lose Ryane Clowe for a month in the process. It'll make for an interesting trade deadline (TAKE JOCHEN HECHT!) for the Sharks. Tyler Seguin and Daniel Sedin pick up hat tricks while Tom Kuehnhackl scores his first NHL goal for the Wild in a shutout win for Nikky Backstrom. The Flyers slip up against the Devils, the Maple Leafs may be seeing their playoff chances slip away and the Canadiens zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

His brother, Optimus Prime, left the game to go fight crime and Doan wanted to make sure that he got out of the building safely.

Also, Mark Alt hasn't scored in 52 games. Any chance he needs a change of scenery?

He just got Gonchar's old spot on the powerplay. He'll get his eventually.

He'll get more of them in Columbus. I think he needs a change of scenery. He doesn't like playing under Shane Doan's shadow.

So that was Sauer who took out Clowe.

Kurt, buddy, you already got the job. No need to kill anyone. :P

I keep forgetting that SJ is gunning for Quincey after he took out Radulov for like a year. Quincey sure took his lumps in that game. Guess I'll have to dress Laraque for our next meeting. Where the fuck was Basaraba anyway?

Shane Doan doesn't cast a shadow. Light just runs away from him.

My hero. Other than that he managed to be -1 in the 5:10 he actually played.

Since the league isn't going to do anything about the Coytoes' goons running around all over the ice I'm just going to have to look forward to taking Doan in the dispersal draft next summer when the Coyotes are contracted out of the league.

I dunno why everyone calls my team a bunch of goons. We don't take many penalties and we're leading the league in goalscoring. It's not the Coyotes' fault that opposing teams' players can't take a clean open-ice hit without being crippled for life. :P

EHM always gives out an intent to injure penalty when someone gets hurt whether it was clean or not. It's like the game can't understand that injuries can happen by accident. Outside of team practices, anyway.

Hey, Adam, Timonen hasn't scored in 48 games (hint hint)...although he always does in my test sims.

Performance anxiety. Everyone can score when it's a "test sim".

It might be the the 10 months worth of player injuries your elite non-goon defencemen have inflicted on two of my slick 30 goal-scorers.

Inflicted by guys with 80+ HI, 75+ STR on guys with ~60 injury resistance...

Sorry I don't have more players who can't hit (Boedker, Gordon) or who just bounce off the guys they hit (Connolly, Forney) but it's a tough division and we all have to find ways to compete. Mine happens to be crippling my division rivals' best players.

Clowe suffered a groin injury, that doesn't really sound like the typical "keep your head up kid" moment from a bone-crushing Scott Stevens hit. It sounds more like Sauer jammed his stick through Clowe's front skate, then went back and pulled his rear leg as far as it could go without dislocating it, then stole Clowe's stick and speared him in both groins for good measure. And I'm pretty sure you don't have video replay to prove otherwise. I rest my case.
