NYR/WPG

Rangers send:
D Dan Girardi (74)
C Chris Krieder (72)
Jets send:
C Samuel Pahlsson (70)
Conditional 3rd 2012*
*Winnipeg will send the better of the two third round picks I currently own. (COL/TOR) Both picks will remain in the possession of NYR or WPG to ensure the condition can be met.
Reasoning:
From a ratings view, Pahlsson appears to be the ideal third line trapping center. His performance wasn't terrible, but as a coming UFA I wasn't totally sold on bringing him back. He's usually a five or six in the nightly box score and not a huge threat to score. With Couturier up from St. John's Sami's usage is curtailed.
Bringing Girardi back makes me feel better about my depth on defense. I can shift Ellerby around to help Olsen while providing Bogosian a partner that will click. Rafalski is also a UFA at season's end and I'm terrified to play him as it is.
Jets approve.
