Det sends 2012 5th round pick to Phoenix
for LW Matthew Lombardi (73)
Looks like he is a cup good luckcharm. I need centers and he is still young at 29. I like his stats too. Good 3rd or 4th line center for me or he might play left wing with Elias and Zherdev

He's a winner; only one team has ever won the Stanley Cup in EHEC without Matthew Lombardi. He puts up numbers better than his attributes would indicate, especially in this year's playoffs where he was possibly our best forward after he came back from injury. Unfortunately, I need to trade someone from my second line to make room for upcomers like Basaraba and Kartayev, and Lombardi is easier to let go of than Korpikoski or Boedker. I have a bad feeling I'm going to regret trading him, but I'd rather send him somewhere he'll be useful than have him ride the pine in Phoenix. Thanks James; good doing business with you.

Hate that Lombardi goes for a shitty draft pick as a straight dump, but so be it.

I offered him to a few different teams, and he's been on my trade block for most of the season without generating any interest... I agree that he should be worth more, but it seems I got more or less market value for him. Besides, isn't the 2012 draft supposed to be pretty deep? If I could draft a Pavel Kulikov type player with that pick, I'd say it's a pretty fair trade.

I know. Wasn't a damnation of the trade. Just a shame that he went for so little as a fairly valuable player. And yes, '12 draft rumored to be very, very good.
