Confirmed. Swaping out Moreau for Kariya for some more offense into the line-up. Don't lose anything leadership wise, as Kariya has 2 higher LE points than Moreau. Adding Kariya into my top 6/top 9 provides me with some more offense and in case the team struggles offensively like last year I got more options if I need them to swap people around. Deal adds me about $2M to my finances, bringing me about $56.65, about $1M under the 57.5 proposed cap or a bit more breathing room if it's $58M.

Kariya is also on an expiring contract, which gives me the flexibility to let him walk, or if he performs well enough keep him on board.

Hate to trade my team captain but business wise, it was necessary.
Kariya had lost his spot to Martin St.Louis earlier today and didn't fit in my bottom 6. The idea was to trade him for a pick to save some cap space and try to sign a defensive minded forward in the UFA market. Montreal offered a 3rd and Moreau, which is exactly the type of player I was looking for this summer.
