To San Jose:
Derek Forbort (80)
Evander Kane (76)
Colorado 2nd 2011
To Winnipeg:
Logan Couture (71)
Dan Girardi (74)
Accepted. I mainly wanted Forbort out of this deal; he'll by default be my next best defenceman next year after Lidstrom retires. The price to upgrade to him from Girardi is Couture, who I really didn't want to deal on account of his excellent defense (rare amongst forwards) and reasonable PE rating. However, Kane is a reasonable replacement who'll be more offensively talented. I think I can deal with his, uh, frequent penalties in the regular season, as special teams just don't seem to matter very much in the playoffs when shorthanded units very nearly outscore powerplays. The 2nd is proverbial icing on the cake and should yield either a future NHLer or at least be a useful bargaining chip in other deals. Thanks Tom.
