Welcome everyone to night one of the EHEC playoffs. Let me start with how annoying it was to corrrect Dan's insane AHL<->NHL swap but it doesn't cost him and its just for my own pain. Great. Also, who cares, we push onward...
GAME 1 - SJS 4-3 over COL [SJ - 1; COL - 0]
The Sharks edge Colorado by only a goal in Game 1 but a win is a win. COL had the early lead, but SJ made it 3-1 after 2. In the third it was a true battle with Mika Zibanjad from Vlad the Impaler with about 7 mins to go to win it
GAME 2 - Oilers with the only Road win 3-2 over DAL [DAL - 0; EDM - 1]
3 goals in a row are the winers for EDM despite Burmi and Broberg(i) trying to bring DAL back to a tie with less than 20s remaining.
GAME 3 - DET crushes NSH 6-2 [DET - 1; NSH - 0]
DET scores 4 straight and never looks back. Nothing jumps out as overly singularly impressive other than individual battles lead to a lopsided score.
GAME 4 - STL TOPS LA 5-2 WITH 5 to 1 in PPs [STL - 1; LAK - 0]
STL continues its PP dominance on a 5 to 1 clip. However, there's no extraman goals, but that time is spent resting and controlling play otherwise helping to lead to this victory.
Let's see how game 2 continues the narrative or flips the script.
