The day began with a battle of the Col__ cities, which the Avalanche took 2-1 despite being outshot by the lowly Jackets.

An unexpectedly heated match took place in Dallas, where the Stars scored 3 powerplay goals, including the overtime winner, but also Andre Burakowsky picked up an ATI for taking out Luke Hughes' legs (Hughes is out 42 days, so Burakowsky is suspended for 6 games - sorry to both GMs :S)

Ryan McDonagh somehow managed to get himself a 10min misconduct on top of a tripping minor barely two minutes into the game, which is a little weird? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The Wild also went up 3-0, then the Oilers scored two goals in 29 seconds in the 3rd, but it wasn't enough.

Not too much happened in the 1-1 tie between Montreal and Pittsburgh.

The Sabres scored two goals in 31 seconds during the third minute of the game, but the Sens got one back in the second with a McDavid shorthanded goal, then scored two more rapidly in the third, 1:05 apart, before Hodgson iced it with an empty-netter.

And finally Taylor Gauthier led the Hurricanes to a 3-2 win over the Wings, stopping 25 of 27 🙃

I'm posting here for posterity when the Canes finish 6, I finish 3, and they sweep me in 4 games. You know, because Dan deserves to be happy and I deserve eternal misery. Can I fire the entire staff two years in a row? Do CGY and I swap Matthews and Eichel every year? Stay tuned!
