San Jose receives:
G Al Montoya (60)

Phoenix receives:
G Thomas Greiss (71)

Both goalies have fallen out of favor with their respective organizations and a change of scenery might be just what the doctor ordered. Montoya is talented but inconsistent, while Greiss is cheaper and slightly younger. The Phoenix Coyotes approve this trade, and we thank San Jose for again being a fine trading partner.

Greiss' extra consistency doesn't seem to have done anything for me this season, and I'm not really sure it matters so much in a backup anyways. I take a slight cap hit for this season but Montoya's signed for much longer so at least he won't be needing a raise anytime soon.
