There's an option in-game you can use that does exactly what it says: it schedules your team an extra practice. You can –should– use it if you lose a couple of games and/or to boost your players' morale.
You're allowed 1 per month. You ask here and the simmer will take care of it.

Yeah, and you get a news item the next day saying the coach thought either it was "enough to shake some players" or didn't make much impact. But even if it's the latter you might see a bounceback in your next game.

FYI, we do not enter XP retroactively or on game days, because it lowers the condition of your players. So you'll get your XP entered for Saturday's sim. (the losing streak solved itself, improbably)
