To Phoenix:
Jordan Staal(76)
CGY 2nd 2011
To Toronto:
Kyle Turris(79)
Martin Havlat(72)
Keith Yandle(63)
Accept,
Hard to move Staal, but I need some depth. Turris and Havlat add much needed offense to my top 6 while Hall develops and Yandle brings a good mix of everything to my blueline.

I really hate to give up Turris and Yandle, as Turris is a personal favorite (and also quite talented) and Yandle is my favorite type of depth defenseman: capable on both sides of the puck and throws bone-rattling hits, but the chance to bring in an elite talent like Jordan Staal was too tempting to pass up. I like Havlat too but his contract is burdensome and I had seven forwards to fill six spots on the top two lines. The draft pick was included to offset the loss of Yandle as the original deal was to be worked around Turris/Havlat for Staal, but Mr. Walters was quite insistent on working Yandle into the deal.
The Phoenix Coyotes confirm this trade. Pleasure doing business with you, Mike.

Toronto receives:
C/LW Chad Kolarik (62 CON)
Phoenix receives:
TOR 2011 4th round pick
Kolarik's an interesting project: insane offensive ceilings but weak defensively. We don't have room for him on the pro roster and he's not going to develop much more on the farm, so it's good to see him find a new home where he'll be given a legitimate chance to blossom.
The Phoenix Coyotes confirm this trade. Thanks again, Mike.

Accept,
More offensive depth and hopefully help my bottom 6. This probably means Jason Blake will be bought out.
Thanks for the deal PHX.
