I have finally completed the grueling task of entering the 2021 draft class of 153 skaters and 10 goalies, available as always in the draft spreadsheet. You can also find the full draft order (will be pasted into threads before the draft starts), and look up the eligible draftees here (this also includes eligible players who weren't picked in the last two drafts, as well as 20 pot/con fake players that are not eligible even if you wanted to draft them). Thus, we are ready to begin the draft.

The draft will start on Saturday, August 21 at 5 PM ET. In the meantime, please review the draftees and let me know if you spot any issues so that I can fix them before the draft starts. Also review the entry draft rules.

Note: Janis Jérôme Moser is technically ineligible per our rules and would normally be a UFA (the NHL has arcane criteria for Europeans vs North Americans), but I thought it would be more interesting to include him, so pretend that he opted in after not being notable enough to include in previous years' classes.

I will try to post a proposal for a new buyout system before then, and certainly before the free agent re-signing period starts.

Just an FYI, in the list of draftees from the link in the GM Office, Ethan Cardwell appears twice.

Thanks, but last year's donations covered the bill for two years, so there's no further need at the moment.

Hmm, I guess I added him again after he went undrafted last year (he's an overager). I'll edit the new one's name to something else.

No. I did two things since then:

- renamed the new Ethan Cardwell to Jalen Luypen (also an overager, albeit much skinnier)
- dropped the fake player Jiri Rovaniek EHM tried to sneak past me to 35 pot from 85 (in case anyone was thinking of drafting a 26-year-old very-late bloomer with inexplicable untapped potential)

Considering WAS admitted in discord that he was sick and slept for 20 hours that leaves only 2 options - either ANA poisoned him, or ANA is a witch.

The Devils' GM (Jake) hasn't logged on in months and left the discord, so I'm pre-emptively adding them to the auto list to save ourselves 12 pointless hours of waiting.

I have Chris (NYI)'s list from Saturday, but he did log on last night so I'm giving him his time if he wants it.

i'm off to work on the classroom for a bit - i sent in a short list for pick 41.. i'm sure one of those guys will be avail otherwise recreate Owen Power for me

Don't worry bout waiting for me on this one - it's close so one of those should be available.

I am willing to perhaps package 55 for a 2nd next year as I don't have my second then. Not really looking to trade back in this years draft.

Continue to believe we need a rule that states once you time out on a pick, your autod for the rest of the draft.

You can submit a list of course....but no more manual selection.

I believe that is the rule still - with the exception that you send in a list or are online for the next picks

Though as I mentioned in Disc. I applaud how smooth this year has run. Pretty quick overall and many of the teams provided lists to Dan it seems to make that fast too.

It helps when some teams have amassed more/most of the picks - we've made 116 picks so far, of which one in three has belonged to five teams (Det, Cgy, Col, Min, and Pit, each of whom have made at least 6 picks so far), while a further 30% belong to seven other teams (Ana, Arz, NJ, Ott, SJ, Van, Wsh, all of whom have made 5 picks so far).

Assuming no further trades, Calgary, Colorado, and myself hold 22% of the picks in this draft ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My roster now shows Moberg, who I didn't draft, and is missing Del Mastro who I did draft.
