Awards have been determined in the Fernando Pisani, Robert Nilsson, and Ryan Smyth arbitrations.
Pisani
Terms: 2 yrs
GM proposal: 1.9M per; comps: None listed
Agent proposal: 2.2M per; comps: Madden, Knuble, Hecht
Pisani had a strong year last year with a +13 on a bad team, has a very good LE and exceptional CON. Pisani outplayed all of the agent's comps and the GM failed to show any comparable players.
I award Fernando Pisani $2,200,000 for the next two seasons.
Nilsson
I did not check Nilsson's age as I thought he was over 30 instead of being formula-eligible.
Nilsson's formula contract calls for a 25% raise with two de-valuations. His formula contract is $2,675,000.
Chris, let me know if you want me to offer this contract.
Smyth
Terms: 1 yr + PO
GM proposal: 4.6M; comps: Doan, Koivu
Agent proposal: 5M; comps: Franzen, Horcoff, Malone
Both parties agree that Smyth is vastly overpaid at 6.25M per season. Smyth has a high LE and a high CON which still makes him a valuable player. Everyone has that image in their head of Ryan Smyth crying on the day he was traded. Keeping that in mind, and the offer of a player option for Smyth to make his own decision next season, I'll award closer to the GM's proposal, even though Doan and Koivu both got raises in arbitration.
I award Smyth $4,750,000 for the 2012-13 season with a player option for a second year at $4,500,000 if he accepts to stay with the Oilers.

Oilers accept the terms of Ryan Smyth's arbitration. We wish to thank both Fernando and Robert for their services and will decline the proposals. Both will become UFA's i believe.

Team Option on Petry and Ruth
Petry and Ruth are both off ELCs, their options should have been removed. They'll need to be offered actual contracts.
Petry: 500k
Ruth: 950k

Petry is asking for 1.3M. Not sure he'll sign for less than that and I know you won't get this before I advance, so I'll just accept his TO and we'll square it away at a later date.
Ruth contract offered at 900k.

Vande Velde declined his PO. He's now a free agent.

I took Roy's TO off because he was off an ELC, but I never informed Chris. We will handle this matter privately, but, for now, Roy is NOT a free agent.

Oilers would like to invite the juniors to camp if they have not already been offered a contract.
