Tampa Bay Draft Review 2016

Post by Jets GM »

Image Ivan Kosorenkov
4th round year 2016 (107 overall)
He is a classic sniper; always at the right place at the right time on the ice. Limited vision and defensive smarts. Cost effective offensive depth; could produce 25-30 goals with the right center. No physical game.

Image Keaton Middleton
5th round year 2016 (122 overall)
A prototypical shut down defensemen. His offensive game is a liability and can get turned around on the ice, but both would be manageable in 3rd pairing role. He should clock in at 84-86 CHK and 87-89 HIT; rare to find such high end physicality late in a draft.

Image Ty Ronning
5th round year 2016 (124 overall)
Another sniper with better hands but less hockey sense then Kosorenkov. Ronning’s shot will top out equal to Koserenkov at 88-90, and his hands will hit the same mark. He doesn’t positioning himself as well as Koserenkov. He will be great offensive depth that can produce in the right environment.

5th round year 2016 (123 overall)
No holes or strengths. He is a two-way player that does not play physical. Good shot and positioning. Average 4th line C or bottom six-winger.

Image Patrick Bajkov
5th round year 2016 (137 overall)
A two-way player that has excellent hockey smarts. Needs take another step in his development if he is to reach the NHL; a boom or bust prospect. Could be an excellent penalty killer.

Image Daniil Miromanov
5th round year 2016 (138 overall)
Very physical game. Will be perfect for a 4th line hit and grind role. Below average skills everywhere else.

Image Evan Sarthou
TB round 5th round year 2016 (147 overall)
Boom or bust goalie prospect; with a big enough CON boost he could become a starter.

Image Artyom Ivanyuzhenkov
6th round year 2016 (178 overall)
Another 4th line grinder; has less of a physical game then Miromanov, but better overall skills. Could chip in a few goals while playing a heavy game.
