The Jackets and Flyers are swept into the dustbin by Montreal and Tampa Bay, although the Flyers at least made a game of it before collapsing in the third and then overtime. Meanwhile, the Devils tie up their series emphatically but lose Ryan Murray for a month thanks to a dirty hit from Dustin Penner (2 games), while the extra practices in Florida get the Panthers to overtime only to fall victim to First Shot Syndrome.
