A Casey Mittelstadt hat trick helps the Oilers cruise to a 6-1 home win, earning GM Mike Cleary his first EHEC Cup - not bad considering the Oilers won their first EHEC playoff series just last season. Is this the start of another dynasty or just the first good Oilers news in nearly 30 years? Tune in next season to find out!

Commiserations and congratulations to Vik and the Habs, who lost just three games en route to an Eastern Conference championship but couldn't contain the oil spill in the Finals. With a literal army of prospects and draft picks at their disposal, they should be back next season.

This brings EHEC's tenth season to a close. It was admittedly a challenging one and we've got a lot of work to do this summer now that we're in the terrible two digits. Thanks to you all for sticking through it and stay tuned for more offseason news in the coming days. In the meantime, I think Mike has some well-earned (virtual?) substance abuse to get to.

P.S. Note to self: use 'make the Stanley Cup Finals' trade conditions more often.

Congrats to Vik for a great season nonetheless. Habs are built to be the team to beat for the next couple seasons.

My man Hugo with another heartbreaking end to a great season! Only a matter of time my friend!

It was Cup or bust for the Oilers, especially since the lottery turned the pick I traded for Nuge into the 1st overall selection. All worth it in the end!

HUGE thank you to Dan and Justin who picked up the ball in difficult times and made this 10th season happen.

Mike, congrats, I know you thought about blowing it all up a few times, but you made some nice moves. Obviously, they paid off, as you got a Cup. Congrats!

Vik, I am sorry for your loss. Thanks for everything you do for the league.

Bern, you don't get it. Half the reason I keep playing is to see how far we can go

Besides the fact that it's impossible to model the NHL now that it's expanding to 32 teams, the thought of creating current ratings fills me with dread and revulsion.

Not really impossible, it would just require a lot of work.

... have you actually tried adding a 31st NHL team in config_teams? It could work if the game isn't hardcoded to 30, but I suspect that something in there is.

Anyway, it's a moot point as we're nowhere near 30 GMs. Maybe if we fill up again we can think about an expansion if it's possible.

There can only be 30 teams in one file but there's no reason we need to be limited to one file. Best way I can think of would be to have one file for the East, one for the West, and one for actual simming. Obviously, there'd be plenty of complications that would cause Justin to start shaking just mentioning them.
